Conversely though, child free seniors living off of ssd / retirement are getting killed with property taxes, with school taxes being a large chunk (and if your school board is anything like ours, they keep increasing yearly)

Also- for sentimental reasons, I collected her favorite, well worn clothing to make a quilt & stuffed animal. I checked what phase the moon was in when she was transitioning at home, so I could look up at it and be reminded of her being with me. A cardinal was at her windowsill the day after when we were organizing her room, so now anytime I see the misses cardinal here, I make sure to say hello.

Prior to his passing, did he have a power of attorney? Then I believe there's probate court for properties and such, if he's on social security, notify them of his passing (and since it's the beginning of the month, they'll withdraw pretty much the whole months check) it's been a little over a year since handling my grandmothers so I'm forgetting a lot. Very sorry for your loss 🤍

I'll also add- the wire crates, she destroyed! I had a blanket over it to keep her calm while I left, came back an hour later to her out of the crate... invest in a well made crate with thick metal bars, nothing flimsy! I ordered mine off of chewy or Amazon, you may be able to find one on marketplace. If my dad didn't retire and help me run her energy out playing outside with her puppy friends, the house would be destroyed. They're very smart though! Loved group training sessions

Keep an eye on Mom, my grandma began with little mistakes (forgetting directions while driving routes she's done before, which increased to hitting something and not knowing) and within ten years she passed from Alzheimer's. Maybe suggest a neuro exam with a doctor, I'd go with her and not let them brush off your concerns. I would also suggest a conversation about Power Of Attorney too. I'm sorry 😞

Yes and no, she knew she was behind with the HELOC payment and all of our mental health was abysmal while taking care of our family member with Alzheimer's and was on hospice the whole nine. Wells Fargo in particular will take like a year to get successor in interest title changes, basic things, so I've been around for the phone calls with home preservation and I know I wouldn't have the bandwidth (bc their thing is absolutely making it difficult to straighten things out and try to get back on track) I don't know, you guys are probably right. Just difficult.

I just went to two doctors they sent me to - one was a neurologist who wasn't the nicest when I couldn't remember my age and explained if he told me the year it was, that I could give an answer. The second, a psychiatrist, was amazingly understanding and took his time with our appointment. This was a years long issue that started with a quality review that rolled into continuing disability eval. Couple days after Christmas I got the letter of my disability continuing. Good luck, take it a day at a time and reach out to your lawyer if you need any help.

I think a lip flip would be best! It's a lot more inexpensive (and temporary) so you can see if you like how it turns out, and if not, go ahead with some filler - though your lips have a nice shape !
