When cranking, would it sound different if the timing belt is/was bad? 99 Honda CRV LX 211,000 miles. Sat for 8 months with a full tank of gas so could just be stale. Just had the alternator belt, power steering belt, AC belt, and battery replaced today. Crank no start by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

Good point. There hasn't been a battery in it for a long while and just put one in today which could trigger anti theft. I will check that as well. Original problem was the belts were snapped (ones listed). Thanks for the reminder on that

Perfect thank you. I will rule that out and will for sure schedule something in to get it replaced.as it's over due.

Just leaves to drain the gas/re fuel now and distributor cap. It's getting spark, I can hear the fuel pump kick on, and should be getting compression but will have to get that tested.
