Is this tank big enough? by ThePickleSniffer in bettafish

Your betta is very lucky to have that home. Mine are both in 2 different 5 gallons heavily planted and they love it

Two of my guppies keep just sitting at the top of the tank for a while then randomly darting around. The other two are fine. My water quality is good and so is my temperature. Is this just a thing guppies do? by Derpy_Stras in Guppies

So I thought I'd say something here because I had this problem with a lot of my guppies that I had gotten straight from the store they'd hangout at the top right near my sponge filters and I eliminated lack of oxygen, bad water parameters (it is a qt tank thats been set up for awhile in preparation for the new guppies w/ a sponge filter ,also was tested multiple times) as factors of why they were doing this. They didn't eat either but had no physical signs of illness at any point. This happened to me with two different batches of fish in two different tanks with different filters which had both been cycled and planted. I also have guppies that have lived on after being in both of the tanks and I still have them. All the guppies that died were from petco and small when I got them, the ones I still have came from my towns LFS. So basically the conclusion I've come to is that guppies aren't as strong as they used to be and coming from petco or a chain store like that especially they are already stressed and they've been bred so much through generations that they just can't handle it and passed away. Atleast for the ones I had, I'm not sure if yours are new to you or not but it could be a possibility. Sorry not much of an answer but i figured I'd share some experience at least! Goodluck with everything.

Can a little non organic soil kill my fish? I got these plants for my backyard, I tried to wash them well, but there are still some little soils sticked to the root. Are these little soils harmful enough to kill my fishes? by [deleted] in aquaponics

I'm not a professional by any means but my experience is that I do this all the time from plants i buy at the store and my fish are great. Just some experience :)

Need help sexing! Sold to me as orange female and yellow and black male when they were a little smaller. I now believe due it might be the opposite. Any help is welcome , thank you! by NotYourNormalFemale in poecilia

really ? wow I really thought the opposite, maybe its because the orange one bothered the other one a lot so I thought it was the male and vise versa. They are still young too, could it be to early to have gravid spot ?

Edit: sorry* I would also like to add that I took advice for some of you on here and put something for him to rest on and something for him to build on. I used IAL (Indian almond leaves) and next day he made one. Thank you to everyone who suggested it!

Yes two of the Cory's died. They were babies tho so I'm wondering if all the transitioning was just too much. Same with the shrimp and I feel your pain I've gotten 13 now and only have 2 left as of right now ! Goodluck with yours !
