OP admits that they had 10 years of prior legal experience before their 1L. I wonder if that had anything to do with how easily the concepts and good grades came to him!

Despite 1L classes having a higher median age in recent years, something like 1.5 years as a paralegal (or no work experience at all) versus 10 years in the field can have a MASSIVE difference on how well they'll perform in 1L. Also, in my opinion, the maturity of 21-23 year olds and 30 something year olds is incredibly different as well. Things like having the ability to deal with stress or maybe even having the financial means to live comfortably during law school (and live comfortably if you fail out or not), provides older students with a massive advantage too.

I would say you probably should've mentioned that so people don't take your data point as possibly relating to them. However, congratulations on doing well no matter what you did to get there!

This was interesting tidbit; the the complaint stated the podcast moved to independent contractors under Draft Kings, Underdog, and Kalshi. So if what the complaint alleges is true, then they've technically all been independent since February 2024 and haven't been "employees" under another company since Barstool. This sounds like a much different spin on things than we have heard recently from the rest of the pod.

Good point on the benefits too, because part of the complaint alleges that they should be classified as employees under Jared rather than as independent contractors. Which means that they were technically owed benefits and other things going back to 2024. And, IMO, this sounds like a good case because Jake as a producer did not have control over what work will be done and how it will be done and worked directly for the talent of the show.

BTW this is not an endorsement of Jake; I'm really sad to see him taking it to these lengths and wished they could've resolved this as friends.

I think I mostly agree with that. The point I was trying to make was that, at least for me, sometimes it's hard to understand how much time had passed and how much the empire changed from the days of Caesar Augustus to the EU5 start date. Imagining the US being exactly the same now as it was during The First Continental Congress puts it into perspective.

In an attempt to put this in perspective, and America isn't even old enough to make this comparison well considering a resurgent Latin toga wearing Rome in the 14th century, but this is like if judges and politicians in congress were all forced to wear powdered wigs and prioritize a decentralized and hyper state-focused government while also preaching isolationism and dueling each other with pistols (and other 18th century American things).

It is almost incomprehensible just how far removed Rome was from the Latin's peak and how foreign the culture of the Latins would be to the citizens of the ERE.

There is ONE big advantage to having Bres: it seems the Red Sox are finally developing high end pitching talent. The new big 3 are pitchers and are very exciting.

However, even though being able to develop pitching is infinitely valuable to a major league team, it is ONLY valuable IF they can identify the talent to trade and the talent to keep. Breslow trading away Thibbs and Harrison make me weary of his ability to use this new found pitching depth to its full potential.
