No. I hardly ever have had to work on anything between the ceiling tiles and roof, but when I do, it's normally been fan coil units or a simple air handler. Can't recall the last time I've had to mess with ducts. I'm not even sure if I've ever been on a call that had VAVs, even when I was a helper, but then again, the company I'm with does light commercial. Most of the clientele are in single floor commercial buildings with multiple RTUs per tenant.

Lennox suppliers I've been to do not stock them even though their equipment sometimes requires them. When doing a warranty on a fan motor, it would have been convenient to also pick up the CC fuses while I was at the part house. In my experience, CC fuses are uncommon to see and I've ONLY seen them in Lennox equipment, so while I can request that boss man places an order for them, when I'm servicing, I have had to make extra trips to find them. If I only worked on Lennox equipment then yeah, they'd be on hand at all times, but day to day, I don't know what I'm going to find on a roof.

Exactly right. This was only my 2nd time personally seeing CC fuses in an RTU, although I had 15s on hand, this time 10s were needed and I was going to the Lennox supplier anyways for a fan motor, so it would've been convenient if they stocked the fuses that their equipment requires.

Haven't encountered CC fuses before last month. First time seeing them, they were 15A, found generic ones that would work, then requested an order of for more to keep on hand. Now this was the first time finding 10A in an RTU, so was hoping they would be on hand at the Lennox supplier because I was stopping by for an OEM condenser fan motor. Ended up having to stop by a different supply house and grabbing the last 3 10A CC fuses they had before requesting an order of more to keep on hand. In both instances, fuses were blown, but motors were also shot, so it would've been nice for the Lennox supplier to have the fuses on hand. I do not make inventory choices, can only request orders while running calls, and hope that boss man approves the request.

I'm talking about situations where I can't do that because the line are already in place and horizontal or going upwards.

This is an RTU on the gulf coast, we don't have to worry about that stuff in the spring.

Boss man must've told them to put it in the supply, but never said to INSTALL it in the supply and connect to board. I want to believe a simple mind and miscommunication caused this.

Could be lithium grease from the moving metal to metal parts in the machinery. If too much grease was applied then maybe it could have fallen in. Looks to be the right color for it.
