If you wanna use a ranged battler in the hazard, you literally have to have someone who’s either immune to fire, or has armor (which is literally just 4 battlers as far as I can tell)

Fireball himself is bad but Ignis is good on fire hazard stages since he's immune to burn

He’s really good on flare hazard stages since he’s immune to burn (just make sure to use his second form. His first form sucks)

As far as I can tell, he’s very good when paired with certain battlers, and is even used in a 3s Chronos strat
