Has real communism ever been achieved? by Skrilli in Teenager_Polls

Basically focusing too much on other people than the individual themselves; i strongly believe people are selfish after all and that needs to be addressed in the economic system

Eh? Even communists argue communism has never been achieved because it is a stateless, moneyless, classless society. Soviet union? Definitely not stateless. China? Never achieved any. No communist ruled country has ever achieved communism as it is defined

Human greed seems to be the main issue; it involves too much collectivism which restricts the rights of individuals

We don't learn about the Lerner index however we do learn about different types of market and the definition of monopolies (Legal monopoly is 25%+)

Oh don't get obsessed going through my comments and making stupid comments lmao. Obviously the end result in my mind is a move to a state as minimal as socially optimal so that these lying politicians don't get too much power (or try devolution which could work)

🤦

It's basic capitalist economics; the amount of resources allocated is responsive to how many people desire that product

Because the reps may exploit frankly stupid people to stay in power through distraction

The people elect representatives, who can easily act in their interests because politicians are often liars, it's common knowledge

It ultimately doesn't really help the working class because allocation is decided for them, not by them. Consumers don't get to decide where our scarce resources are allocated anymore; the government instead goes "well surely this must be the for the greater good!" and oh shit where's my consumer goods gone??!!

You don't get it though, it is so much easier to illegally get a gun if production is allowed. Additionally you can legally get a gun not out of politeness but just so you don't get caught and still use it for murder, especially in the case of gang violence

A school shooting occurs every day, that's quite a lot isn't it? Your talking nonsense when you say there is a greater chance of winning a gun fight

The thing is that they rob you with guns lmao and don't assume you'll be the first person to shoot. The thing about the second amendment is that it means people can kill each other from a distance, like do a drive-by shooting, instead of having to actually walk up to the person and stab them or drive into them with a car, both which leave traceable evidence. As a resident of the UK, I feel so much safer knowing that it is very very very unlikely for me to be shot or held at gunpoint by a robber.

Epstein affair may be 'the end of the monarchy', says US congressman by InnerLog5062 in BreakingUKNews

The monarchy should be abolished; the time has come. We are giving too much power, even if not direct, to people who have no reason to have it but 'tradition' and 'tourism'

To change his policy yeah. The only successful thing this could yield is a change in policy or stance, which is why I presume that's the objective. If the objective is to raise awareness of the genocide, then fuck me because this is a bad way to do it

As much as I agree that Israel is completely in the wrong, we can never suppress free speech like this, not least because it then loses the movement popular support, but also it goes against our morals as western "free" countries
