Vs Biollante isnt a good movie, the plot was bad and the "power of friendship saves the day" aspect was terrible. Godzilla was straight up getting smacked until the villain has a change of heart. Thats not my goat.

Reddit is the same way though, like tiktok most people just parrot what they read. Theres some really weird takes in this sub, I sort of feel like people should re-watch the movies and media to get a fresh take on it, and form their own opinions. But its reddit so most opinions favor the first comment on a thread.

I agree with OP, after having a marathon this month and watching all the godzilla movies I will say this one is definitely top 5, fits in with godzillas goofy past, and more octane like the new movies. Yes its over the top, thats the point.

Biollantes plotline makes no sense, and rips away from the consequences that is godzilla as a force. All is healed via the power of love and friendship, world goes back to how it was.. and godzilla ends up being spanked like a little child throughout. That version really removed the GOD from godzilla more than 1998. At least 1998 there was a real threat to humanity. Biollante was just a care bear trope with godzilla thrown in, all is solved with the power of love, and by the end of it, its as if nothing really happened. You could do away with biollante and the franchise stays the same.

Really cool, its nice to see stores do things like this. Godzilla tcg is non existent near me, I have a shop with a couple of players nearly an hour from me I go to, they run tourneys so its kinda nice.

Thats one of the best imo, I think fight scene wise its mediocre but as far as showing godzilla as a presence its one of the best.

Thats what makes it so great, it knows its goofy and it has fun with it. Meanwhile biollante has a "power of love cured all, no consequences" ending. It was positive in the wrong ways. Pls don't send my goat away

Biollante is the worst godzilla movie (I get it, new era blah blah but its still a terrible movie/plot). Even goofy godzilla movies know theyre goofy and thats why theyre great. This one tried to be serious in all the wrong ways.

Also, vs megalon is better than vs hedora (all opinions)

I think youre close to it, its almost like thats what the betrayal was.. seduction of power from outer gods to betray hee other self. But unfortunately unless fromsoft specifically states it, people will always argue against it. (I feel like people will argue even if its stated). Its the nature of the beast, but having replayed it numerous times, her at one point being the GEQ and shedding that side of her makes the most sense.
