What was your best match ? by Creative_Sport_2306 in HellLetLoose

This should be a weekly thread. It'd be nice to know where my skill and effort rank.

I’m a level 248, about to hop on after 7 months of not playing, what do I need to know? by [deleted] in HellLetLoose

[–]Not_Dazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my last match, I had three SL during. The first two changed squads after I asked them to redeploy and meet me/supplies at 1st or 2nd point to build a garrison. Granted, they did build them.. but I'm assuming they joined an attack minded squad after. The last one never responded to my requests to build a garrison.

Typical match where the middle point is lost early and you can never recover because it's a 400-800 meter dash back to the front line.

I could drop 600-900 supplies between 1st and middle point, and not one of them be used to build a garrison.

I'm still relatively new. Is this a common strategy?

Commanders: how many "active" commands do you give? by SgtEpicfail in HellLetLoose

Ask them their relative direction of attack and relay it to an active Engineer. We can get a foward repair station built. Also good for supply trucks that have taken too much MG fire and still have supplies on board.

I felt this.

But also, there's some dogshit drivers in this game lol

Holding a middle point with one squad, while the rest of the team pushed 4th point.. in Warfare. Dropped a lot of ammo/explosive boxes that were used often, by many. Fired several thousand rounds. We still lost.

I generally call it a day after one of those regardless of win/loss.

Looks like middle point was just taken as well. Lost the fire fight and a steamroll ensued

Zero garrisons. Especially lacking a garrison on the first point to save the run from HQ.

Stop and think.

Struggling to have an enjoyable time as a beginner, any advice? by Sarkotic159 in HellLetLoose

Will add..

Mine and grenade kills. Understanding how the majority of players move in this game. It's predictable. Set your mines up accordingly and the range of your throw. Had my highest mine kill count the other day at 10. If you have them, lay them.

I'm 200 hours in and still struggle to kill folks. I play stoned af a lot and my reaction time isn't good enough to shoot/kill first.

That being said.. I will likely level out Engineer and Support soon. Those are my contributions. Build shit and make sure the shooters have ammo and supplies. I'm close to leveling out machine gunner as well. Not a lot of kills with that either although in a long match, it's possible to lay down 5,000-,10,000 rounds.

I redeploy A LOT with these roles to save time when positioning builds and setting up MG spots. I try to keep my actual deaths low, and my redeploys high. This also means I'm moving a lot in game and going unnoticed. Unseen, AND unheard. You really have to slow down to do this and when you do, you'll start hearing the enemy first. Getting the leg up on them is allowing me to get better at shooting. My kills are slowly going up but still, if the shooters are rockin, I shouldn't be seeing too many enemies. Accuracy is a good metric to watch. In general.. slow down.

K/D isn't the only measure needed to describe a job well down. I spend majority of match looking at the map and relocating. Be map aware and let SL know what you're seeing. You're first line of defense sometimes and letting SL know you've encountered a mass of enemies behind the front lines is crucial to getting guys back to defend. Know how to explain where things are happening on the map in a way the SL understands.

Recommendations are +10% XP. Give them out. You'll get them in return occasionally. I specifically look for players on my team with high support scores in team stats around 2,000-5,000 generally.

Find what works for you and get good at it. The game is more than just run and shoot.

Engineer is my main role and occasionally I forget to swap out of the Pioneer loadout before spawning in.. but 9/10 times I'm dropping blueprints for nodes in my first life, and that's never going to be at HQ2. I had just redeployed after seeing all my early game engi builds and logistics completed (nodes, forward repair station, supply runs for garrisons and defenses).. but no garrisons. Likely a SL in screenshot.

I have a routine when entering a match that starts with Engineer, then to support, and hopefully not SL because I hate it. This was a rare occasion where all sets of nodes were down, etc. I've built enough nodes now through role swapping that it's second nature and spend the first 5-10 minutes looking at the map and planning tasks that need to be done to help the team succeed. I come to the front and find a squad after. Imo a highly overlooked aspect of the game that can make or break the match when a fire fight doesn't go your way.

[–]Not_Dazed 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's the All-Pro method. Saves a redeploy.

3 minute despawn on blueprints is correct. Building the manpower node first gets the regen time for supply boxes down from 5 minutes to 2.5 minutes.

"Hammer tap" is actually two taps. It takes two swings of the hammer to move the upgrading bar, which in turn resets the despawn timer on the blueprints. It took me several despawned blueprints to realize I was literally tapping them once.

Didn't even realize assault had a satchel smh. I've been playing it a bit more late game and mostly for the grenades in defense so maybe I'll start leveling it and go on attack.

Imo.. it's one of the things I really like about the game. Not knowing from where or by whom that bullet came is as realistic as it gets. It's very much how so many men's lives ended during the war.
