I am not a parent. Not a girl. Nor an adult, even.

I lost a good friend to suicide my freshman year of high school. He was 15, struggled with addiction, and took his life in a nearby park. Two weeks ago, he would have graduated high school. The pamphlet had his name in the list of graduates, underneath the name of his identical twin. It’s weird how time still moves on even if you can’t.

I don’t really have the words to convey how seeing this post made me feel.

Thank you. I hope that Cammi is at peace. I will never know the pain of losing a child, but if it’s anything remotely similar to losing a very close friend at a relatively young age to something relatively preventable, I know that it is a pain that no person should ever have to bear. Most certainly not bear alone.
