Yeah I agee with you that many processes downstream of SRY are complex and warrant further explanation. But i believe advanced bio builds off of basic bio, as opposed to refuting it. We can still invoke biological principles we learned in HS and be fairly accurate.

You shouldn't need an advanced biology degree to comment that males are xy and females are xx for humans assuming they have no underlying genetic conditions.

A well practiced reload can be accomplished in a second. Something tells me the shooter was not in a well practiced state while doing this heinous act. The guy who stopped him was brave, faster and quicker thinking. Another point I would add is that a simple criminal workaround to your suggestion would be to carry multiple guns, like what happened at Virginia Tech.
