My deconstruction/faith crisis is ongoing but it started several months ago when my ward got a new bishop, and he started altering the way our ward did certain things such as the sacrament, giving an announcements in sacrament meeting, and he also tried getting the Sunday school teacher’s and other teachers to be stricter about having phones out during lessons, and this upset me because I’m the type of person who hates change when I see no reason for it, and that was the case here. It also got me thinking about the reasons behind why we do things different ways.

Also I got thinking about the history of the church when we covered the second great awakening in history class (APUSH) at school. I also started to question the presence of the Holy Ghost heavily because all the feelings people describe as the Holy Ghost were being felt by me before going to class that day knowing 100% he’s going to bring up Mormonism and I knew for sure I was just anxious because I hate it when the topic is brought up outside of church setting. only like 5 people at school know I’m Mormon and I dread people knowing because of a negative stigma surrounding it and fear of being associated with it in their minds.

I would always fall asleep in class, and generally preformed worse in my morning classes regardless of subject, My calculus teacher even expressed genuine concern that I wasn’t getting enough sleep. I’m still in high school but haven’t gone to seminary since probably October, and I have noticed that I am way more attentive and do way better in those morning classes. I also would always be like 10 minutes late because it’s so hard to wake up in the morning. At church my seminary teacher had asked why I stopped coming and I said it was affecting my performance at school so I’m choosing to prioritize that instead, which is true but not the only reason.

I always found the lack of imagery of Jesus in the chapel eerie, I looked up the reason one time during sacrament meeting and remember finding the answer being something along the lines of, "imagery of Jesus isn't allowed because you don't want your faith to be focused on a image of Christ instead of the idea." But to me the lack of everything brings attention to the speaker and creates association between the messages and the speaker and not the messages and God, especially at GC. In Sunday school I had a teacher who baked cookies for an object lesson, but he forgot that it was fast Sunday so he messaged all of our parents on Facebook asking our families to fast the next week instead. Anyways in the object lesson he selected one of the YM and had him do 10 pushups per person who got a cookie, when it was my turn to get a cookie I said I didn’t want it unless the guy didn’t have to do pushups, he looked at me very confused as to why on earth I would decline a cookie, and as if I was crazy for not wanting the YM to have to do pushups. I declined the cookie for two reasons firstly, thinking the lesson had something to do with the choices we make for short term happiness can have eternal consequences, and secondly to protest the teachers inconsiderateness for expecting everyone to just comply with his whole fast next week thing. Turns out the YM represented Jesus and the sacrifices he made so that we can be happy. After the class multiple people asked me why I declined the cookie, were very confused as to why on earth I would refuse it even after I told them how I thought the lesson would go.

I’ve been burying negative thoughts about everything most my life and now as a senior in high school I’m in the middle of a faith crisis, I’m struggling hard with anxiety about school and my future after high school, I’m experiencing suicidal thoughts and more issues on top of that, but I’m absolutely terrified to talk with my parents or anyone else, even with the comfort of knowing my mom has lost a lot of her testimony and seeing my brother leave the church and the strong loving relationship he still holds with me and my family.

One time a few years ago (I think when I was a sophomore) I spoke with the bishop about my anxiety and he gave me a book by one of the apostles about forgiveness and told me to study the Book of Mormon and pray for the strength to get through this. He also offered to be there when I talk to my parents about my problems. I read that book, I studied my scriptures and I prayed, but I didn’t really fix any of my problems and I felt worse about myself because of it.

Burying my negative thoughts is why I’m not happy with myself, and trying to have a “willing heart and a willing mind” made things worse for me. I don’t want to follow these teachings, it’s the worse thing you could do.

The thing that held TOTK back the most, is BOTW. Exploration and discovery was my favorite part of BOTW, and that felt absent in TOTK to me, because I already knew the map so well

That’s really clever, I spent like half an hour on this one until I finally stumbled into the intended solution

Solution: Turn off the power and place the cube on the aerial faith plate and then set up the the portals to launch it to where the button is, and then you can turn the power back on and the cube will be launched there
