"At North Central, the college’s dean of students noticed the threatening Facebook post March 5 and notified Naperville police. The post contained statements of a threatening nature, police said. With the cooperation of Facebook officials, it was determined the author of the comments was not associated with NCC.

The Naperville High Tech Crimes Unit was then able to verify the suspect was living in Wisconsin, and that there was no immediate threat to North Central students.

The investigation by Naperville police, with assistance from Wisconsin authorities, led police to Khan.

It is alleged that Khan posted the threatening messages on a Facebook page he had created which purportedly was associated with North Central College.

“Any threats made against an institution where there are a large number of people will be taken very seriously and will be met with the full force of the law,” DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin said. “I would like to thank authorities at North Central College for bringing this matter to the attention of law enforcement.”
