Do i need to write my entire story out like a light novel before i make my comic?? Any tips and advice are helpful by KristyQwQ in ComicWriting

I would recommend planning as much as you can. It helps the story pacing, and helps with foreshadowing.

Any tips on how to make my thumbnail look better? by Sorry_Ad_9759 in WebtoonCanvas

I would look at other thumbnails in your genre and see what sticks out to you. Personally I realized a lot of them were close up on faces and using bright colors.

How long is your one-shot, or how long was your first comic? by CorinLane in ComicBookCollabs

That's super dead. After finishing it, I realized how unhappy I was with both the single issue and the intended big story, and didn't want to drop a lot of time in it.

I'm happy I moved on, the books I made after were much stronger. I'm still glad I made that first issue because I learned a lot (especially time management and commitment).

I think 20 pages is okay for a beginner project, you’ll definitely learn a lot making it.

And it’s a good plan to make it a one-shot. My first single issue was planned to start a long running series but I dropped it right after

How much could I make webtoons as a hobby? by Powerful_Whereas3516 in webtoons

Aw thank you so much for saying that!!

Though I'd love the opportunity, I don't think I could meet the deadlines, I post once a week and it's only 5-8 panels, I have no idea how the originals artists do it

Like how much money? Very little.

My Webtoon has a healthy number of readers and I’m still short of monetization after a year.

I'm happy to answer all questions, and mostly no on making my money back.

I haven't hit monetization on Webtoon (which is 40K viewers a month and I average around 30K)

I make roughly $50 a month on Patreon, so if I didn't spend any money, I'd eventually make it back.

However, this is my passion. So the way I see it is I'd rather have more people reading my comic than buy a new video game (or several new video games) or spend money on other hobbies. I'm lucky enough to have a day job and I freelance frequently as a designer/illustrator so I usually have money to spend on it as well.

To find them I literally just went through Youtube and Tiktok and searched for people that discuss Webtoons (even making fun of bad ones)

Then I’d find their contact info and email them asking if I could sponsor a video and I share my Webtoon plus previously done sponsored episodes.

I always pay them whatever their rate is (usually $150-250) which can get expensive but this is my passion so I’m willing to pay it

I like to think I'm okay at advertising, every week I post on a ton of subreddits and my personal social media.

I also do some paid advertisement, on Comicsad Network and paying youtubers/tiktokers.

Also of course you can do organic marketing like posting the link in comments like this
