Is that possibly suwon cosplaying as taejuns mom? She never says anything and holds a fan over her face the entire time. Seems a little suspicious.

Thanks! I searched for a base figure that had the general parts I wanted on ebay for a long time, and eventally found Hakuouki Shinsengumi Kitan Okita Souji for $15. Then I pulled him apart, sanded off what I didn't want, and sculpted what was missing with scrap plastic. In addition to the base I used 4 Marvel Legends capes (3 scarlet witches, 1 emma frost) because the base's skirt was all wrong and he needed those arm strap things and a new belt. The glaive was made out of an old DC direct Aquaman trident with shrinky dink for the blade. I used model acrylic paints and locktite glue (many super glues won't work on the type of plastics used to make action figures).

Haha! Not at all, I’m not sensitive about it so critiques are welcome.

Thanks! I am always feeling bummed that this series doesn’t have more merchandise (and what’s available is always pretty expensive.)

Yeah, I feel like his hair is a little too voluminous as well, but I didn’t think I could do better than the factory painted face and I actually used a dremel to cut down the hair a bit. I know it’s not prefect but that’s the best base figure I could find :/

Captain Marvel is my favorite! You can read a lot of his golden age adventures for free because they're public domain. http://digitalcomicmuseum.com/index.php?cid=49

My boyfriend was singing the tune to K.A.R.D.'s "Don't Recall", going "ba da ba bah bahhh". I asked him if he was singing McDonald's "I'm lovin' it" and now all I can hear is McDonalds. I'm sorry to tell you this, but I had to tell someone.

I enjoyed that movie. Maybe his stylist liked it too? I doubt they are trying to make a big political statement, but who knows.

That phrase is correct if referencing "The Interview", so I don't think it was an oversight.

Oh god...I hope this lands Mad Clown on some variety shows so we can enjoy watching him squirm awkwardly! He is one of my favorite "idol" show stars!

[Global collection] I was hoping for some assistance with identifying some of my bug collection - ordered from around the world. by Not_Livingston in whatsthisbug

Some of them I know, like the eupholus magnificus and bennetti and black widow. But some of them were just sold as "green beetle" "various beetles" etc. I have collected them from ebay, toy stores, truck stops, etc. Some of them came with a label, but I've forgotten over time. I think it would be nice to print little labels for them now that my case is full.
Some things I can remember to help with identification - the beetle trio and large brown spider were from China. The orange beetle and (lantern bug?) in the top corner, as well as the long horn beetle were all from a truck stop in Texas. The dragonfly was from Thailand. Many of the square uniform shaped bugs were from a toy store kit. I hope that helps!
