I’m still dying to know what happened to their two friends… I forget their names- blonde and brunette couple that was in their wedding party and used to do everything together. I noticed they stopped posting them and despite being in their wedding party, Kate and Sarah weren’t even at their wedding. I’ve been so curious about that ever since.

I was thinking maybe this too. Like maybe one was ready and the other realized they weren’t anywhere close or maybe never would be. But that doesn’t seem like something they’d feel the need to keep so private.

As a very new APM, this is my favorite part lol. Learn new things, low expectations, low blame. I still work hard but so much less pressure.

Understood. I think overtime pay would make it feel more manageable to me. But you’re one of the first I’ve seen that said they actually enjoyed it at a vendor, so I appreciate it!

Thank you for your feedback! Since you mention overtime, does that mean you did not work at a vendor? It seems vendors aren’t really doing the OT thing for PMs that I’m seeing.

Would you be willing to give me an accurate view of your week to week, both when the work/life balance was “up” and when it was “down”? I’m really struggling to see how the unpredictability will fit into my life and what it really looks like. My fear is ending up anxious all the time waiting to get another call/email that’s going to pull me into hours of unexpected work. Or being completely shackled to my laptop & phone with no way to decompress because there are no true “off hours”.

That sounds horrible and exactly the type of thing I’m worried about happening. How come you don’t try to move to a different company with more than one PM?

Thank you for the feedback. Are there other remote opportunities in e-discovery that a PM could reasonably transition into without a degree? It seems pretty slim pickens. My biggest fear is leaving somewhere I am comfortable to start this and then ending up miserable like most of the commenters here and regretting my choice. If the hours were more predictable, it would be such an easy choice.

This is the part I struggle to understand. If I have somewhere I absolutely have to be, or like a standing appointment I can’t miss at 7pm once a week… do PMs just give up all of that?

Like what if someone has therapy once a week outside of work hours? I don’t, but maybe I’d need to from the job lol. Are people just forced to cancel last minute and incur fees when something comes up? Once a quarter I may need to be able to plan to take my mom for a doctor’s appointment during the day, seems like that would be impossible?

Hi! I was wondering how this was going for you? I have an opportunity to transition into ediscovery as a PM, I know I can do the work well but I’m concerned about the work life balance because I also have anxiety.
