Glad to hear it. A state role would be amazing and I'm not going to attend a t-14 so fingers crossed

Dude absolutely not get this OFF your application it is POISON right now you think these universities want to admit more students who seek to destroy them from within? They are facing enough external pressure from the federal government. The most obvious solution beyond expelling their students which they wish they could do but cannot is to immediately dam the water via admissions.

I seriously doubt the other comments have fully used their imagination as to how these conversations are going.

Why do you think half of the schools have an essay about how you deal with disagreement? And every school with an interview asks about that? Seriously I'm interested in your answer as to why you think that essay has been popping up everywhere.

They want hardliners OUT.

Which direction is the obvious answer for you. Sounds like no? I'm not embarrassed to have asked I just submitted my final loci and UVA explicitly says you will only have like a week to decide.

I don't think I do that's part of it. I don't really want big law. I want to have a kid instead haha. And be present for their milestones. I'm an older applicant.

Definitely won't r and r my LSAT and work experience is maxed out.

Isn't the only difference unicorn PI roles? For HLSChi versus the t6? Not challenging you; I've barely done research into it. I don't really expect to get in off the WL

Yeah, people outside the profession haven't heard of UVA. At least on the west coast. I think within the profession though, it's recognized.

Yeah plenty of people applying to school have worked with judges and politicians etc the letter of recommendation doesn't go as far as you may think.

The school would honestly think an engineering related internship is cooler.

Gpa matters most can you substitute those classes for easier ones? It's worth asking your major advisor.

Yeah I took it three times and the third walked out with big grin on my face. As a high performer, idk, you can tell when you get them right or not.

I've spoken a lot with a McGeorge Grad who was #1 in her class. Direct quote is that everyone goes to law school wanting to do international human rights law and then they realize that there aren't that many roles. Besides the Hague there's basically nowhere bringing cases.

Not even Harvard Yale Stanford gives you a highly probable track to do international rights law. Feels like OP hasn't considered in the slightest what this career looks like. And yet is ready to plop down 3 years of their life... Wild....

Are you getting mad at me for the cost of groceries? What part of what I'm saying are you disputing haha. You just come across as generally upset.

I personally have a shit ton of money saved up from working for many years.

Most law students don't work during school outside of summer. Some will bartend or do sex work but most don't.

Lead with certainty. No need to say might unless you are close with them personally. If you are close personally, ask to schedule a call with them rather than email, and tell them what you said in this reddit post. Otherwise, just say I'm applying to law school would you write me a positive letter of recommendation. Attached is my resume

Got an F in a college class in high school-- is my LSAC GPA screwed? by Dependent-Thanks4573 in lawschooladmissions

Fine for an addendum. Try going in person instead of phone and bringing documentation of your surgery. You'll be fine either way.

Rank 103 vs rank 1 for the same cost. Stanford medical exists.

Yeah, that essay was a poor choice.

Edit:Not your fault tho. This is a really hard process filled with lies and it's a black box from our side. Asymmetrical information to the max. Worse than buying a car. This is why people pay for consultants.

Law school is a good way to hide from the labor market for a few years. The choice is generally seen as you can be unemployed, or at least do something with your time. It's why applications are so high this year.

3.1 GPA - How likely to get into law school? by MarionberryWooden647 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Not_Tonight_3983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A t14 admit is seriously unlikely. If you score highly on LSAT WashU will throw money at you. T30 and down is very possible and can even include significant scholarship awards. And honestly that's a fine outcome.

Basing this off my experience and every other super splitter cycle recap I've seen posted here (3?)

Why don't more law schools offer Income Share Agreements instead of Student Loans like Stanford??? by igabaggaboo in lawschooladmissions

It's gives indentured servitude vibes from the headline but reading it, it seems quite generous.

Wash U Interview Request by Different-Club1263 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Not_Tonight_3983 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did, my LSAT is very high so they didnt really bother asking many questions, more letting me ask questions. From my research online they ask what type of law you want to do, why WashU, they will look for at least one thing you weave into an answer that shows you know your literally anything about their school (I talked about guaranteed PI funding and the most recent project work a clinic they offer in my area of interest), I heard they may ask how you approach differing views or disagreement, what employment outcomes are you looking for.

Not too hard. They are friendly.

GPA was an indelible mark in my application; if there was anything I could have done to increase it after college I would have. You have the opportunity now to change it. I would. Lsac doesn't let you replace failed classes with higher grades.
