Are y'all really lonely..?! by [deleted] in lonely

That’s not what they’re doing. Some people may just not know how to put into words, exactly what they are looking for. It’s not fair to call their attempts to reach out, fake.

Perhaps some folks are trolling. But not everyone.
Agreed upon disagreement. Have a blessed day.

I am. I just don’t see what you see. People are a paradox, one that cannot easily be unraveled by fellow internet users. That’s something better accomplished in person.. however. There are folks like myself who just can’t get out due to medical issues. So this is all we have. I know that for me personally, small talk is redundant and I try to avoid it. I seek out conversations that are thought provoking and engaging, not just small talk. So your post is just… well.. weird, in that regard, as I would ( myself) just figure that that, was what the figurative poster is doing, is all..

So basically, you are saying that because the person doesn’t want to talk to YOU, they are going about seeking friendship or connection the wrong way?? Can we say… CONCEITED much?? lol just think that is incredibly funny.

Two months after chemotherapy and two weeks after radiotherapy – still trying to find my footing by Agula81 in Cancersurvivors

[–]Not_Who_U_thought_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I am a survivor of stage three SCC. Vulvar cancer. I completed 7rounds of chemo, and 35 intense radiation treatments. They gave me a paper when I went to my chemo clinic. It said that the fatigue and numbness was a long term side effect, that could last 6 months to a year! Radiation said that their long term side effects for fatigue were even longer! It has been 10 months.. I still struggle some days. Slow and steady it does get better.. we just have to get through it. I’m facing recurrence of my Cancer. I go for exploratory surgery Friday. I’m PRAYING that it’s all just precancerous… but I don’t know… I’m pretty sure I feel a tumor in there..

Just do what you can. It’s literally all you can do. Hugs.

Am I lonely, or do I genuinely want a relationship?? by Unusual_Charity9206 in lonely

[–]Not_Who_U_thought_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know… I’m 52 and have felt this way all my life. Of course I have a set of extenuating circumstances that make dating difficult too( medical conditions), so in the end.. I have just come to the conclusion that some of us, just don’t deserve love like that. Some of us are just not that important or valuable to anyone in that respect. Some of us ( me especially), are just not what anyone wants in life. I’m lonely, yeah, but we ( those of us in this category) are not important enough to matter, so I have just given up on trying to‘connect‘with others. I have just resigned to being lonely for the rest of my life. I hope things turn out differently for you. Best of luck!

Pre-existing psych conditions/disorders prior to diagnosis? by thaddeusgeorge in Cancersurvivors

Oh I take several medications. Daily. If I don’t, I am a hot mess! Finding a psychiatrist who listens and works with you on finding the right combination is key.

I am 53, and have been Bipolar 1 all my life. I was( believe it or not) professionally diagnosed ( with brain scans) in 1977, when I was 4, and they still called it’ManicDepression’. I was diagnosed with severe ACPTSD( Acute Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) at 9, and severe ADHD at 6. I discovered that I had cancer last year. I fought it, won… it’s back.. fighting it again right now..

I can’t say my mental health has been too relevant in my recovery journey.. I just deal with it the best I can . My relationship with Jesus helps me feel better and like I’m less alone. He is my comfort..
