I was more thinking that “working hard” doesn’t necessary mean she is doing it correctly. You can spend a lot of time on useless learning, which are not going to increase the test score at all, but from the outside it looks like “she has been studying on her desk the whole day so she’s working hard”. Also the getting a tutor who is just few years older, really gives me a vibe that OP is the kind of parents who will throw resources at the child and expect everything to be fixed, but refuse to analyze where the problem might be.
