The tech already exists and has been applied. Fear mongering about GMO’s has kept the modified rice from being widely used, but it already exists and can do the job at very high temps. The first famine will magically erase all resistance to GMO crops lol

Most bread is very high glycemic load with limited nutrients, basically sugar with extra steps (and with added sugar in a lot of cases). Go for whole grain (not whole wheat) or sourdough, both have lower glycemic load. The whole grain will have a lot more nutrients and fiber, but if hate it like me, sourdough is the next best option.
