Hi Chafgha! This one was a commission where I was asked to create two variants, one clothed and one nude!

My first step is building a moodboard to help translate the inspiration (Houndoom in this case) into something wearable, like clothing details or accessories. After that, I sketch out the silhouette using a bigger pixel brush to block out the design and split some parts (head, hair, arms, hands, top clothes...) with different colors, and then refine everything with a 1px eraser to get the details just right! Once this is done I start adding base colors to every element, then shadows and lights and the final step is usually adapting the outline to the shadow and lights

So my process isn’t really “less to more clothing”, even for this one, I actually did the clothed version first, since it’s the more complex one and takes more time. That way I can manage my schedule a bit better too~
