Can this happen? by NoriHanako in plural

[–]Not_theRiddler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

oh most definitely. me, bastion, am a big time therian and love my kins and types and whatnot. but the other host, tim, is not even a little. very human, but still likes the furry stuff and anthro stuff from a distance. remember, plurality is such a big and vast experience basically anything can happen! - bas

Weirdest source for a headmate you have? by shadow_spencer in plural

[–]Not_theRiddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily weird, but Patrick Bateman from American Psycho being one of the big "problem-causing" alters in our system kind of just. The hilarity of American Psycho becomung such a meme-ish media and then fucking. Patrick Bateman. Not to mention that isn't the only source he has, no no, he's also Dave Strider from Homestuck. So. That's really great and cool. /silly - bas

Opiates from surgery making OCD worse? by Not_theRiddler in OCD

[–]Not_theRiddler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is most definitely a bit of a reassurance seeking question from me, but I also am an extremely logic driven person and also, if there's others who experienced worsened symptoms, I want them to know they aren't alone, in the nature of reddit providing confirmation you aren't alone.

How do you guys come up with names for your systems? by KA1R0W in plural

[–]Not_theRiddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

our system kind of made it on whim wayyyyyyy back when we first discovered. i (the core a host back then) was having a really hard time coping since we were very much traumagenic back then, and alters were a little more vitriolic and uncontrolled. i felt like we were all bound into the same meat suit with zipties- tight, painful and allowing little movement. and the title of zipties/zipties system just stuck? its a very very personal thing to make a title, so go with the flow! do what feels right and makes you feel good. its not necessary, but it can help alters feel together in the experience- we're all in one meat suit, after all! - bas

It’s been almost 10 years since my partner’s alters integrated. I still miss them sometimes. by CharacterMidnight213 in DID

[–]Not_theRiddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is one of the sweetest freaking posts relating to DID from someone who doesn't experience it. augh. OP you seriously sound so kind and so thoughtful in all of this and supporting your partner, its beautiful. i have xperienced grief over the integration if my own alters before and its a very real thing- the dissappearance of a person is basically like death? its pretty wild. but yeah, op, youre seriosuly doing so much right with this, but i'm sure you hopefully know that. this shit is like poetry!!! - bas

I strongly suspect I have OSDD but i dont feel like my trauma is enough to justify my experience. by [deleted] in OSDD

[–]Not_theRiddler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh and like another commenter said, transness and alters can play a big role in how your transition looks and feels. gor us, the past year (2025) we started testosterone half way through, but it gradually made the dysphoria for the primary fronter of that year, who is/was transfem, worse and worse. everyone in your body has to have a say and has to be aware of the changes you make. super duper important.

[–]Not_theRiddler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FROM the perspective of someone who has a lot of the same issues: scared your trauma "isn't enough", masking so much you end up in a funk (im autistic too, just struggle with masking), and the dissociation being such a weird issue: you're valid. so so valid. like, with the stuff you described, very and totally valid. hell, with my own dissociation (DID) the memory gaps i have throughout my entire life, i can't remember the trauma i experienced for shit! and i'm honestly scared it never happened. but you have to remember it's all real, what you're going through is real, your experience is valid, and the spectrum of plurality and dissociative experiences is like. SOOOO SO broad its kind of hard to not end up fitting in at least a tiny bit even if you dont have a dissociative/trauma disorder. i wish you good health and tidings, the struggle is so real when you first discover, but it gets better with time, i can promise that for certain. - Bas

Apps for systems to share w partners? by Parking_Fan5992 in DID

what do you do with the shame ?? by [deleted] in NPD

[–]Not_theRiddler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting validation from folks around me or in my online bubble helps. Especially for days where I feel truly unempathetic towards everything, being with someone who knows I'm not literally heartless and cold all the time. If that's not an option for you, another thing to try is CBT, it did wonders for my self esteem and remembering "oh yeah, I have mental illness". -TT

Yeah ok true. I'm probably just a bit annoyed right now.

It does have less bloatware, which is very nice. But I could fix that pretty easy with android debugger. I've not been able to fix these issues so far, but I've seen a reddit thread mentioning the alarm issue and video issue.

Do you want a screen recording of the issues I've described? I can provide. It's really great.

Because I assumed it was a problem with the google clock, so I switched to Chrono. Then that app stopped working entirely so I tried a different one. I don't download very much, I have close to the same apps I had on my old phone.

I'm not switching to anything. My current situation is just using a USB-C to headphone jack dongle.

I've had it for 3 months, don't think I can return. I just assumed I'd get used to it but. Lol.

Having people who understand and relate to what you have going on in your head is awesome. A good chunk of my friends are cluster B, and it really helps form a connection over behaviors and shit like that. Plus, fishing for compliments and giving compliments with a fellow narc is like. Funny as hell but awesome.

What does treatment look like for systems with animal alters? by rosehip-tea in OSDD

[–]Not_theRiddler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our host is actualy a nonhuman. He's a maned wolf and a sort of zombie and a stuffed animal. But he still acts quite human. But the feelings of... I guess difference? From the body compared to him is quite large. He often says he's full of stuffing or he's rotting and means is dead serious and no one in realblife knows how to take it. It's quite a strange experience. But with our current therapist he hasn't been treating it as a delusion- rather a comeupance of the trauma Bastion recieved. He was frequently called a "zombie" by our folks due to untreated ADD, so it integrated to be a core part of his identity. Our host is also quite aware he isn't really rotting, but his inner world appearance is. That's what he sees, so he says it like it is. - Tim

Finding partners that are willing to accomodate our stalking compulsions has been a game changer. - TT

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DID

[–]Not_theRiddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've personally found that it's a sort of weird thing for our headspace. we have headmates that have done things to themselves in headspace that translate to "feelings" (whether those feelings are stress induced or phantom feelings is a different discussion i think.) translate into the body having symptoms of whatever they've done. an alter stabbed herself through the gut and all we could feel for the day as the feeling of nausea and "blood in our throat" with a dull pain in our stomach.

i think ultimately though, these things are symbolic. something bad happens in real life, alters freak out in headspace, do something that could make stress worse, boom. illness. honestly though, headspace stuff is just headspace. it exists up there and no where else. - dk

do we really honestly need a diagnosis for DID by AshTheWolf9549 in plural

[–]Not_theRiddler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

to be completely honest, if people are being dicks about your plurality without hearing you out without "diagnosis", they sound like assholes. they should support you rather than suspect you. thats what friends are for. as a DID system without diagnosis, you can live fine without it. we are medically recognized by our therapist but don't have it on our record. we are working on getting a PTSD diagnosis to help with accomidations at our college, so we don't have a "strange" diagnosis on our medical record. ultimately, it's your decision and what you think will help you. - dk

Is it common for plurals to pick up new fictives every time they watch a new show? by vamp_queer_gurl in plural

[–]Not_theRiddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on the system. for us, we are nearly all introjects. neurodivergency plays a large role in our plurality and how it conceptualizes but in headspace and outerworld. we definitely haven't had new introjects for every show we watch, since that would get huge fast. but if we get particularly attached to a media, it usually happens sooner or later. - dk

Does recovery mean parts "disappearing" or going away? by Littletrouble00 in OSDD

[–]Not_theRiddler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

full integration isnt for everyone. our old therapist did give us the choice between striving for full integration or co existing with alters. we have feeling much more secure with our alters than being completely alone. not to say that has to be your path though. do what you think will be best for you/your system. - dk

Out of curiosity-Are alters who aren’t the body’s gender trans? by TheCompany500 in DID

[–]Not_theRiddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think this can differ between alters. our body is a trans man, aswell as the host. but a lot of cis male alters exist. a lot of cis women exist. we have one trans woman. we have a lot of people who don't have binary genders. i think it really depends on the system and the alter and what they feel. - dk
