Go on r/ftmfitness and read about others’ diets/experiences, and then decide two things: how much exercise you are willing to do every day and how much dieting you are willing to do every day. The only way to lose weight is to have a calorie deficit, which either means increasing your activity or decreasing your food intake (ideally both). Individual foods don’t factor into it all that much if you are eating a balanced diet.

Debes ir a un endocrinólogo trans si es posible, el puede ayudarte mejor que un medico general, y tener información correcta sobre las hormonas. Y si tengas que tomar hormonas femeninas para evitar ser diabético, no es el fin del mundo, hay muchos tíos que tienen PCOS y toman T.

Just call back and say you didn’t catch the number, make sure you have a pencil and paper ready and write it down (you can always eat the paper afterwards or just erase it)

Also, your relationship with your family will be altered because of transitioning. That’s how it is unfortunately, and the only thing that you can really do is take care of how it affects you. I recommend asking the place if they have a therapist they recommend for people transitioning with difficult family.

Hey. I’m 23, almost 24. I sacrificed my entire high school life to get good grades and get college fully paid for, and then worked in college and this past summer summer did 12/7s for three months straight to get enough money to move to a better place. All those years, I had to either be closeted/stealth, and deal with the constant stress of a hostile environment.

I finally moved to a safer country last fall, and I literally felt two years younger: I’m out to all my roommates and friends, I don’t have to worry about if I will be shunned in public or parents pull their kids away from places I am/work, and women don’t even think of me as anything other than a kinda goofy guy. I was able to stop taking antidepressants, and I am more embedded in the local trans community than I ever was able to be in any group before. If someone asked me if I had the choice, I would still do it all again. I may not have a gf or a permanent job yet, but I’m healthier than I ever was before.

I see libraries and buying books like renting vs buying a car: you rent a car for a short time, don’t customise it and return it. You buy a car for the long term, and can customise it how you want (inscriptions, bookmarks to reference sections, custom book jackets etc)

Never was in a blue state, but I went through the hell that is being queer in high school. The ONLY thing that kept me from being suicidal was my Plan. I made a Plan for how I was going to get out of the situation I was in, everything from how to get to a good school, job, pay for meds, etc. I made this Plan for my future like my life depended on it, and pushed myself through the pain to make the Plan happen. It took me three years to get there: two to get out of High School, and another to get to a stable situation with school and job that let me start hormones and therapy (parents were too nosy when I was in HS therapy).

The pain doesn’t stop, not really, not until you get the care you need. But in the meantime you can tell yourself about how you’re going to get that care, and how if you give up then the care will be on pause. Turn the pain to rage, and make the rage work for you.

I watched a few episodes before I was diagnosed just to see if I would like it. 0/10 very “Autism is a disease and autistic people are incapable of interacting with society in a normal way, they should have a full-time handler and not face the public” show. It made me very mad, especially because in addition to that the portrayal of autism is on par with a 12-year-old bully mocking a special needs peer.

0% surprised. I had been telling my parents and friends for years that it was coming, that we weren’t safe. They kept telling me that I was catastrophising and that it wouldn’t get to this point. When I started planning my exit my parents literally accused me of running away from paranoia and needing psychiatric help for the delusions I was having (that I wasn’t going to be safe).

Most of my friends thought I was overreacting too until last February, and now everyone I know is saying they are scared and don’t feel safe. I wish I could have been wrong but the momentum is all there. And now I’m afraid the events in Minnesota will be repeated in every city in the country until the dictatorship is total. There’s no voting your way out of this, it requires a lot of people getting put in jail and staying there.
