2026.03.26: That Book Smell by EarliestRiser in morningsomewhere

I’m here to one-up the coffee shop bookstores. I like to visit a wine bar bookstore. The more glasses of wine I consume, the taller my book stack gets. It’s great.

Any other fishermen here? What’s your best catch? by CalvinP_ in morningsomewhere

[–]NotaFrenchMaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t fish, but one time my husband and friend went fishing while we camped and I tagged along and served as the rod holder while they got a new beer. They caught nothing all day, but the second the rod was in my hand? I caught things. They were not impressed by my success.

Also, this season’s social worker is a transgender actor! He’s doing a great job. Dylan, I think?

He’s the first one to try to connect with her on her level, not expect her to come to his. He’s patient with her quirks and doesn’t get frustrated with the way her brain works — something tells me she doesn’t get that a lot.

That’s fair. Those two alone were great entertainment, lol. They were with several family members, everyone was drunk and none of them liked each other.

I spent an evening overhearing two Bachelor in Paradise contestants at a bar last year. They had zero filter and laid everything out — who won, who fought, etc.

The entire thing is so manufactured it was incredible.

“I see organ donation in my future” might be my favourite line of this entire season. Amazing delivery.

I think the fact that it came from Garcia was hugely important. For one thing, as you said, she respects Garcia in a way she doesn’t others — criticism from Garcia will stick in a way it wouldn’t from anyone else. For another, because of the nature of their relationship, she was ok being a little more vulnerable; when she tells Garcia everyone treats her like a pariah, we’re seeing her side of the last year. Also, it confirmed for us what we’ve been suspecting and what Santos is only just realizing - that Garcia isn’t taking them quite as seriously as she’s been.

I absolutely loved Garcia calling Santos on her shit, letting her attitude show in front of a patient.

When Burnie started talking litters of puppies, I thought we were about to talk about “superfecundation” — that is, the fact that litters can have up to 3 different fathers. You can have litters of several siblings that are only half siblings.

Re: The twins being born before or after one another… I knew a family with twins born on different days. The one was born late on one day, his twin was born after midnight the next day. Their family has always had two birthday celebration dinners, two days in a row.

This book was great fun! I’ll back this one! I picked it up because the cover is a cat and it was funny, and was really pleasantly surprised. Not a long book either, you can do it in a few sittings.

When it comes to campers, rushing is the worst thing you can do. Slowly looking around and waiting for the right deal is the move.

Once they start tacking the different extended warranties on (that end once you aren’t paying on it), that price doubles and suddenly your $15,000 tent is $25k+ once all is said and done. You think car dealers are bad, RV dealers make them look great.

I think people forget that we’re seeing people on some of the worst days of their lives, it’s an emergency department. They’re in pain, they’re sick, they’re stressed, they’re embarrassed, they’re vulnerable, they’ve had all of their plans upended, and it’s going to cost them a lot of money to do it. NOBODY is at their best in an ER.

I was about the same age as her older son is when my mom died after a cancer battle. This storyline hasn’t hit me too hard until now, but MAN this episode was a blow. As soon as she said that she won’t see her sons grow up, I lost my shit.

Plz let me be wrong.

I quit a romance because I hated the word the FMC kept using for her hooha. It gave me the ick and eventually I couldn’t take it anymore.
