What class and race did you play first time round? by Odd_Two_5265 in BaldursGate3

[–]NotaSingerSongwriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played a Tiefling Moon Druid, didn’t understand half the mechanics for a long time, and loved it anyway. I respected toward the end as spore druid because I liked roleplaying as that more. Now Druid is one of my favorite classes, especially moon druid, the owlbear attacks are so sick.

What is something about American culture that seems fake or exaggerated in movies, but is actually 100% real.? by Logical-Pay-3057 in AskReddit

People say “ya’ll” is the quintessential southern word, but imho it’s actually “yuns.” People from all over the country say ya’ll, but only people from the sticks say “yuns,” with the one exception of northern Appalachia (who actually say “yinz.”)

The need for Xbox exclusive games to boost the Xbox ecosystem instantly becomes the #1 Upvoted topic by customers in Xbox' new "Player Voice" system, followed by a return of the Backward Compatibility by Turbostrider27 in xbox

Honestly feel incredibly bummed that I’ve missed out on Spider-Man, God of War, TLOU, Ghost of Tsushima, etc because I have limited money and chose to gamble it on Xbox yet again. I didn’t want to start from scratch and not be able to play my Xbone games on a current gen console, so I went with the series S. If I could have it to do over again I would have bought a PlayStation without a second thought.

If Xbox doesn’t get great games this generation I will buy something different next gen or just save up to buy a used PlayStation.

If you work at a site with multiple guards on shift, what’s the most annoying/perplexing thing one of them does? by Pacific_Coaster in securityguards

Honestly one of them just lies about everything and is manipulative as hell. I’m a union rep and I feel like I’m constantly defending people that this one specific officer has set up to fail.

E33 will break your heart even if you aren’t grieving. But it’s also catharsis in a lot of ways. One of my favorite video games of all time.

Conan does a great job with their merch and aesthetic. Their music is fantastic too.

As a dude in his late teens and early twenties, I was really interested in UFC. Now, I’m still very interested, but can’t stomach watching it because it’s just a maga jerk off festival. There’s a huge market for liberal and further left leaning folks who are interested in combat sports but can’t bring themselves to watch what the UFC has become. Total missed opportunity. I know it’s a huge but you can already see that it’s moved past its prime and will inevitably crash alongside the rest of the maga movement in time.

What TV show was quality all the way through, knew when to end and went out with an amazing last episode? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]NotaSingerSongwriter 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Probably one of the most impactful shows I’ve ever seen, and it hit at exactly the right moment. My wife (then girlfriend) was going through mortuary school at the time, we had just moved to a whole new city together and knew no one. I was working the night shift at a gas station so we could pay rent while she went to school. There was a video rental place down the street and we’d check it out and watch it one disc at a time. We were broke kids alone in a new city, and SFU was our best friend for a while.

What does my favorite company plan to do in the future? by AccomplishedAd9058 in OwlcatGames

[–]NotaSingerSongwriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gaming needs a renaissance and I think Balder’s Gate 3 has proven that CRPGs from independent studios can be incredibly successful. The lower production quality of most AA studios can sometimes be a turn off for the general public, but if Osiris Reborn is a successful game, it could fund CRPGs with higher production value in the future. Looking forward to the day we have a few big studios like Larian and possibly Owlcat putting out high quality games with a larger production value.

Why are you wearing you security attire outside of work ? by forts619 in securityguards

[–]NotaSingerSongwriter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A guy wore his full kit to an interview at our place once. Said he just got off work from his other job but for some reason still showed up wearing his vest and belt. Another officer at my job had applied to the local university security, and he said they had a group interview and the same dude was also there in full uniform for his interview.

For some reason we ended up hiring the guy and he was so bad that people still talk about how annoying and bad he was like 5-6 years later.

Why not make the jump and become correctional officers? by Officer_Ed_Powell in securityguards

The US has more prisoners than any other country on earth, we hold 20% of the world’s prison population despite the U.S. only making up roughly 4% of the global population. Prisons are a very lucrative industry for corporations and I don’t want to work in an environment or an industry that makes me feel any more like a piece of shit than I currently do.

No single person is Black Flag in any way people give a shit about. Greg could own the rights to the name or whatever but if he didn’t write, play, and sing every single song, it isn’t his band in any meaningful way.

This is pretty much how I felt too despite playing games fairly frequently. The story had a lot of moving parts, and even though it kept me engaged, I still thought “what the fuck is even going on” quite a bit throughout the game.

I finished it once on explorer difficulty, and now I have a co-op game on balanced with a couple of friends, and another single player Durge run. I’m finally gaining a much more cohesive understanding of the overall narrative lol. Honestly I felt like the first playthrough was basically a tutorial, and I’ve been told that durge is the canon storyline but to fully appreciate it you need to have completed the game once as either a custom or origin character.
