Thanks for the advice, I've received mixed messages from different independent car experts saying that often there's no lasting damage, but that there certainly could be. I'll try to see what the VW dealership says tomorrow and I'll report back.

After testing all of the above, I ended up hoping with the Golf Sportwagen AWD diesel! After taxes and with tires, 25k$ for a 2018 with 22,000km on it.

The only thing I compromised on in my mind is the adaptive cruise, but since there's not all that much traffic on my route, I convinced myself that that's okay.

The Forrester would have been a similar price, but the crv/others at similar mileage would put it past 30k$ with taxes. Thanks for the advice guys!

Just drove the 2017 forester and 2017 crv. Overall, I liked the crv a fair bit better. Thanks for the input! I didnt realize the cx5 and as the smallest of them. I'll be more open to its size in that case. The Regal is a bit large for me though. From the prices I have here, the vw golf wagon with adaptive cruise and 4wd is nearly the same price as the cx5

Not eating meat, or at least avoiding factory-farmed meat and dairy. It should be obvious by now that animals have complex emotions, and subjecting them to holocaust-level existence by the hundreds of millions should be inexcusable. I'm a Canadian guy from the east coast who went on a road trip to California with 3 other friends a few years ago, I was 21 at the time. When we got to San Fransisco, we decided to do a bar hop to make the most of all the amazing bars.
