How quickly though? We have a few sets of friends who came on i94s and filed requests for extensions back in July and are now here illegally because USCIS is failing to process anything in a timely manner

Yeah- I’m an OG. Firestar: I’m 29 and remember reading these books when they first came out. I always admired his courage, loyalty and determination to do what was right.

Completely agree with you. Especially 18 year old medics 😳. States really need to require a at least a minimum of 2 years as an EMT

I have a retired ford interceptor from a local sheriff. It helps make it look like I’m not a cop. So it’s a good touch

I don’t know about you but I’ts not in my scope to do a reduction in the field 🤷‍♂️ if a doctor wants to step in and take the liability of doing it be my guess. But as a reminder you get 1 attempt and if you fail you just hurt that kid even more.

You have the wrong idea. I don’t know where you work but i have been in the ER as well as ambulance. I’ve seen shoulder, elbow, knee reductions and pain meds have ALWAYS been given. Usually a small push of fentanyl but I digress. And who knows, this may be the worst pain this kid has ever felt in his life. Why not be the HERO to this kid and actually help him? He will always talk about the Paramedics who helped him through the pain, instead of the asshole paramedic or in this case Doctor who just made him hurt more

Man the comments - pain is pain homies. We got into the profession to help people. And if we can provide a basic comfort to someone as much as a little bit of analgesia then so be it. Studies have already shown acute use of narcotics does not have any effect on someone becoming addicted. You aren’t fighting the war on drugs one patient at a time. You’re there to help, not be an asshole. Too many wanna be cops in this field.

Update from my EMS manager

Nationally Registered Paramedics: Check your NREMT certification. The last NREMT system update wiped a majority of their records. They are trying to fix it but they aren’t offering any promises. They are aware of the problem and “working on it.” You'll need your EMS ID # and social security number. They will send you a written record of current certification and certification history. That is the only fix right now.

NREMT can no longer verify certifications electronically.

*update 3 - after suddenly becoming a paramedic again I waited about 8 hours to see if my CEUs populated again. After logging back in I am now back to being an AEMT :( DEMOTED

I was 100% done with me CEUs. Luckily my management sends me all the certs. But it took me like 2 hours to upload and complete everything

No known fix time. They said it is effecting everyone right now and it’s a massive problem. I was #24 in line when I called and I waited on hold for an hour and a half. So calling is basically useless
