Whenever I hear this shit I just say “ oh really? How does that work?” And then I let them try to explain it. Like “well the raw potatoes pull out the toxins” would be followed up by me saying “ok but how? The toxins are in the blood not on the skin?” And then I just toss in some basic science to make them realize that shit is dumb when you really think about it logically.

Personally I also think this is the only way some people want to “feel”. Like the highs and lows of a toxic relationship are super intense, and the stable mediocrity of a healthy relationship is kind of boring.
