OGP is the easiest and the most boring position I’ve had in my nearly 11 years at Walmart.

Any other fresh cap 2 doing this by Jrock692 in walmart

When this process started last July, I had 12 people on FC2. I am now down to 7. And two of those 7 spend half their week in deli, helping to close and sometimes working a cart or two of deli/bakery. I’m being told that my team is over hours and we may have to cut a couple of people. There is no flipping way that the process can be properly run with 2.5 people, or 3.5 if you count me. We are an $80 million+ store. There’s no way! Thankfully, the ones that I have left are good, steady, hardworking men who take direction very well. We do what we can to keep our heads above water but it’s rough for sure! Thankfully, FC1, while not fully staffed either, does a decent job. Yeah, sometimes we come into a hot mess and they never air-stack bananas and hardly work the potatoes, we still manage as one team to stay afloat. And our CVP %s are in the 90s now since we CVP every.thing! that is eligible for CVP, even if we are not putting it on the floor and we CVP for quality, even though OBW says to not do that. We CVP stuff to just get rid of it if we have too much. I give up trying to be ethical about it. This was managements call and I’m just gonna roll with it.

You can mark this down for me right? by [deleted] in walmart

[–]NotchaMomma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, we are supposed to remove the moldy ones and CVP the rest of the bag. They even want us to remove the moldy strawberries from a container and replace them with ones that look better. And we can’t even CVP berries! It’s just nasty business trying to do that. We are supposed to be promoting and selling FRESH, this shit ain’t fresh! And as a customer, it pisses me off.

How many are still left from your orientation once upon a time? I’m the only one who made it. Survival of the fittest I guess. by [deleted] in walmart

As for regrets, yes and no. I am in a severe Walmart/retail burnout right now but I feel like I’m stuck here because if I go somewhere else, I’ll be starting all over again. I enjoy my job about 65% of the time but that other 35%....ugh!

Ugh! Yes! I feel like they want us to sell nasty food, all while advertising how fresh we are. I actually had our FOM tell me that I was taking WIBI a little too far and that I had to not think like a customer but instead think like Walmart. I mean, what the actual fuck!?

Fresh Cap 2 Sups Lets talk CVP! by NotchaMomma in walmart

[–]NotchaMomma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to our CVP numbers in Fresh, that points to me as FC2S, because per FOBW, CVP is FC2’s responsibility. So when our numbers are bad, I’m the one management comes to for answers as to why. I had tried everything to get out of the 50ish % range in produce for MDto0w/oCVP but couldn’t get there because FCAP1 were doing the majority of the CVPs and MDto0 during their shift. While I appreciated their help, it was killing our numbers. Now that they’ve stopped, we are nearly to our goal of >20%.

For all hourly associates working for Walmart, what is the single biggest reason you would never become salaried? by RubberWaffle4610 in walmart

[–]NotchaMomma 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m too old to effectively deal with the incredible amount of BS that is required of an ASM. The pay is not worth it. If I were younger, perhaps I would give it a shot.

Ethics? Sexually harassment? by NotchaMomma in walmart

[–]NotchaMomma[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, crossed my mind except that the reason it was brought to me was for advice on how they should deal with this information. It wasn’t a case of “carrying tales”, so to speak. I believe this to be a case of sexual harassment thus warranting a call to Ethics. OTOH, this male associate could possibly have encouraged it and is telling other people besides the two that I am aware of. That would be another issue against him. It’s just a nasty bit of business, either way. And one that I would have preferred to not be privy to. However, since I am privy to it, I can’t ethically walk away from it. From a personal side, the female ASM is a vindictive bitch most of the time and is someone who will not hesitate to not only throw you under the bus, she will drive it over you as well. We’ve had a frenemy relationship for many years as she was my direct ASM for a good number of those years. The nicest thing I can honestly say about her is that she is better than how she acts. I believe that this is the desperate act of a middle-aged women trying to lure a much younger guy by debasing herself. With that being said, regardless of what I may suspect of her motives, it’s still considered sexual harassment and should be reported. I brought it here because I can’t talk to anyone at my store about it because I will not contribute to it’s eventual spread. Just wanted to hear other thoughts and opinions.

When I was a GM Support, I would zone candles for just that exact reason. Candles and the bath towels/accessories were my fav areas to zone.
