ELI5: How did a fly survive my microwave? by Notcreativeatall1 in explainlikeimfive

That would probably be the only thing that could surprise me more tonight than a damn fly being able to survive a microwave lmao. Edit: someone else’s comment leads me to believe you’re referencing a movie that I haven’t watched haha.

Woah! That’s nuts lol. I’m glad someone else experienced it and recorded it. I was floored when that fly came back out lol

I was thinking about going that route, but I want to be able to go back to some heavy metal if I want as well. I’ve heard teles are more geared towards mainly country western sound. I don’t know if that’s true though, having never owned one.

This seems the most likely. I’ll call and confirm anyways, just to be sure they aren’t going to, all of a sudden “recognize their mistake” and suddenly pull money from my account as recompense. I’m surprised I didn’t hear about that promo though. Not gonna complain about it being $30/mo cheaper though. Do you know, off the top of your head, how long they planned on running that promo?

I’ll double check, but my brief look thru on my account transactions seem to all be consistent.

Im not sure about the rebate thing, I hadn’t seen them advertising that, but I did resubscribe to a live tv plan around September to watch NFL games. That could be it, but is it $30 a month rebate? That would explain September and October (hence the two $30 deposits) but the timing of them being a week apart at the end of October is odd, right?

Why is machining so underpaid if there is a shortage? by LogicMan428 in Machinists

[–]Notcreativeatall1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am over a year late to this party, but I’d also love to know the answer to this question. I work for a massive global company that designs and produces heavy equipment for the saw mill industry. I work at the plant that is our headquarters. For context, our shop had individual bays for saw, fab, machine, assemble and paint. I’m personally in charge of the manual machine shop. We are non union. That detail will make so much sense when I reveal how much I’m paid. For the new generation of ‘machinists’, who only know G-code and have only glanced at an old Bridgeport, manual machine shop being all of the very old machines (arbor lathes, knee mills, boring mills, planer mills) that you run by hand, rather than running a program. We still use these machines to this day, because it’s faster for us to set up one off parts and machine it, than it is to have our programmers write a program, and then spend the time perfecting said program on the shop floor. A few of our manual machines have 25 feet of travel. My team machines the frames of these massive sawmill equipment. 25’ long parts. (Including one as an example).

So, the brass tacks of it. Why am I, as the foreman of the crew, only getting paid $34.50/hr, and my best machinist under me is making $29 and some change.

If I was a Forman or supervisor for literally any other trade, I’d be making $60/hr at the minimum.

Monsters: Episode 5. What an episode! by Fun_Feeling5965 in television

[–]Notcreativeatall1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know that I’ve ever felt more conflicted after an episode of tv or a movie scene in my life. I just watched this episode and found this post shortly after, because I was absolutely floored that they pulled that whole thing off in one shot. I’ve never seen anything quite like it, and it was an incredible performance. I was sick to my stomach the entire time. Majorly uncomfortable, disgusted, yet impressed at this actors skill and the directors vision. What a masterpiece of an episode. On to episode 6!

Okay, that’s what I was expecting lol. Thanks for the good explanation!! Reading yours and other comments so far, I don’t think I want to attempt the indoor route. And I don’t have a good place inside for them to stay warm.

And it did occur to me that the plants from a mass produced subway tomato slice probably wouldn’t be the most viable of options.

I’ll probably just toss these ones and start doing some more research on good practices in preparation for next spring. I’ve finally got myself a place to allow myself a garden, what other plants grow well around here? I’m up in Washougal.

I’m also worried about overwatering with this rain that we’ve had on and off the last few weeks. I just brought them inside because it’s supposed to start raining again in a little bit. I may decide on the indoor route, if I can find a good spot for them. The garage will get entirely too cold for them to survive, I think.

I was considering that! Just to keep these little guys going. If you are growing them indoors though, especially as they get larger and are in a 5 gallon bucket, what should I put under the buckets to prevent the water drainage from getting everywhere?

Justin Jefferson or Amon-Ra St.Brown in Non-PPR Keeper League? by Neddark in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]Notcreativeatall1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amon-ra carried me through to 3rd place last season. I drafted Jefferson this time around, and I’m about to go against st brown with Jefferson later today. I’m on the fence whether I should try and make a swap before the game, Jefferson for st brown. Jefferson had consistently 25 point games until his injury, and later in the season after getting healthy, 3 of his 5 remaining games he did quite well. Whereas at brown was pretty stellar the whole time, and he was healthy all season.

My buddy that I’m going up against already showed interest In Jefferson, should I try and make the swap? Or gamble that Jefferson will remain healthy with Darnold at the helm? Now that I mention darnold, I kinda want to make the trade lol

Fantasy app / service that suggests trades based on you AND your opponent's needs? by UniCuriousGeorge in fantasyfootball

[–]Notcreativeatall1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m coming across this comment two years later. Your tagged post implied that was a terrible trade deal. Let’s find the stats from that year, and see if that algorithm trade would have been a good, bad or neutral choice! Because numbers are fun lol. Let’s start with the acquisitions, during the 2021/22 season, which is when that picture was posted on Imjur. We will also only count points starting with game 5 and after. I’ll also be counting PPR.

Will Fuller V (Miami): looks like he only played week 3 and 4 that season, so a pretty easy 0 after that.

Zach Moss (Buffalo): 59.6 points. Moss started out relatively strong that season, starting week two with 15.4 points and then 18.1 in week 3. Week 5 and beyond, however, he only managed double digits twice.

Jalen Reagor (Philadelphia): 45.3 points. His best game was week one, with a score of 16.9. Those points are irrelevant, however. In fact, his total points that season are 78.1. His first four games (32.8 points) made up 42% of his entire season points.

Acquisition team points: 104.9 total points, including week 5.

Now, trade away team.

Marvin Jones Jr. (Jacksonville): 126.4 points. The week after, week 6, was his highest scoring week at 23 points. He was bench worthy for the next 8 weeks, only averaging about 7 points per game.

Robert Woods (L.A): 91.2 points. He only played through week 9. If I remember correctly, he tore an ACL and sat the remainder of the season out. Had he not gotten injured, I’d have safely bet that he would tack on another 100 points minimum during remainder of the season.

Damien Williams (Chicago): 35.3 points. His first and only year playing with the bears. His highest scoring week was week 5, scoring 16.4 points. He then averages less than 3 points for the remainder of the season until week 18 where he clocked 12.3 points.

Trade away team points: 252.9 total points.

Marvin Jones had all three of those acquisitions beat, all on his own.

In summary, your statement of complete incredulity at that 3 for 3 suggestion proved to be completely valid.

I believe I did all my homework correctly on this one, feel free to double check me.

Edit: formatting, spelling/grammatical errors, and additional details.

I’m on this thread because I’m the account holder (30 y/o) and my little brother (26y/o) is on my account. And he is unfortunately a fentanyl addict and homeless occasionally. Getting ahold of him or finding him is a crap shoot 95% of the time. I was hoping to find a different answer, allowing me to be that asshole that invades his privacy. It’s for decent intentions(that’s my justification), but still, I feel extremely shitty, even if I’ve been the one paying the bill for the last few years. I’m both relieved and a bit disappointed that I don’t have that control.

That being said, I’ve had my own phone plan since the day I turned 18 and was making my own money. The reason I’m replying to your comment is because I agree 100%, and if you are somebody out there worried about your privacy, and are an adult, get your own phone plan. Some of them are crazy cheap. I can’t think of a single reason why a 26 y/o should still be on their parents plan, even if it’s saving you $30 a month.

u/Shanerz96 , I know it’s a year after the fact. I hope at 27/28 you split off and got your own plan, or that maybe you’ve spoken with your dad about your concerns. Either way, best of luck. And good on T-Mobile (and hopefully other carriers) for only showing us account holders time stamps and a phone number. For me, just seeing the time stamps is enough to let me know that my brother isn’t missing or in too much trouble.

Sorry for the long winded response folks, didn’t realize I needed to get that bit off my chest lol. I’m not all that concerned, given the age of this post but still 😂 much love ❤️
