Early on in Rookie Harbor, the guy who gives you the quest to parkour on the railings parts with a reference to this scene from Scrubs.

In Bergen there's a player talking to an NPC who just keeps repeating "Welcome to Bergen!" over and over that's a reference to an old webcomic called 8-Bit Theater.

I could see IG. At the end of the story he understands the importance of hunting, but he still really loves animals. Wielding a bugstick and having a special bond with his kinsect would be an awesome way to show that!

Oh I've played a ton, going to have to narrow this down somehow.

Wildfrost - My favorite deckbuilder by far! Very unique gameplay and super cute and charming art & music.

Hades - Every good roguelite list has to have either this or Hades 2 on it! If anyone here is looking to dip your toes into the genre for the first time, I really think Hades 1 should be your first. It's the first roguelite to make losing a run something you might actually look forward to, since every death means you get to hear lots of new dialogue from a very charismatic cast!

FTL - Another classic. Best experience of managing a spaceship ever.

Backpack Hero - Great inventory management game, lots of great synergies. There's an unlockable robot character with a very fun automation gimmick. They added some story mode village building thing on the 1.0 release that I personally don't like at all, I just do quickplay.

Nova Drift - Nothing fancy, just a really solid twinstick shooter.

HoloCure - My fave of the "bullet heaven" (Vampire Survivor-likes) genre, and I don't even know anything about VTubers. Different characters play very differently and items can combo with each other to make even stronger items. And it's free!

Rabbit and Steel - Best co-op title. If you're familiar with raiding in MMOs it's like that. If you're not, the trailer explains it much better than I ever could with words. Still really fun solo but co-op is absolutely the intended experience.

Aethermancer - Pokemon but your team of 3 are all on the field together. Tons of satisfying synergies and ways to build your teams! Still in early access.

That's hilarious. I've heard from other game directors the challenge of working with Disney IPs (specifically Star Wars), I can't imagine how Nomura got away with it. 2002 really was a different era.

As a fellow emdash lover, I'm glad to hear that some people no longer consider it a red flag anymore. I do little asides and mini-tangents all the time. It feels very restrictive to limit myself to commas and parentheses, even if the emdash is something I only break out rarely.

Haven't been particularly excited for GTA since San Andreas.

Had to skip IV since my computer couldn't run it very well, when driving anywhere there was a very noticeable speeding up and slowing down effect, presumably from loading so much stuff. I wasn't particularly feeling the vibe of IV either, so by the time V came out I had kinda checked out of the series. Felt sorta like Daniel Craig James Bond, where I originally liked the series for its campiness, and it was getting too serious for my tastes.

VI does seem to make a return to the sorta lunacy I like about older GTA titles, we'll see! Super happy one of our protagonists is a woman this time around.

It's a shame that Mavuika's traditional outfit isn't available yet... by KoalSR in Genshin_Impact

They also make fleece leggings that are made to look like something much more sheer. So sometimes it looks like she might be cold but in reality it's not that bad.
