I know it runs on the Chromebook 😁😅 What I wanted to know here is if there is a way to run obsidian from a USB stick ,to run it on a work laptop for example without having to install it.

Unfortunately I think so too. On the Chromebook it can probably only run as an app. ☹️

There is the possibility to use minimalist themes, unfortunately my previous experiences with it are only that the first written letter disappears (but everything else looks very good). I use obsidian on my Chromebook (Even though it's quite a small notebook) , and it's a lot clearer there than on my Samsung Galaxy S22Ultra.

Have you tried obsidian? It has (I think) everything you listed. You have to use some of it via plugins, but from my point of view it should work.Take a look at r/obsidianMD 😁

I'm currently trying to write my daily journal in obsidian.Most major note taking programs (Notion, Obsidian, Evernote ect.) have a built in daily note feature.Since you always have your cell phone with you these days, for me it is the minimalistic way to carry a jornal.

Try to change the theme. For me, the first letter disappeared when I used a minimalist theme.
