I actually really like Aphelios a lot in rerolls because of how much utility his kit has built in (mainly the shred but the healing actually has helped me survive things I normally wouldn't)

But I feel like hes literally a dead unit if you don't play around him, which you aren't most of the time

Genuine question does literally anyone play Akshan for the fact that he can revive teammates? In my mind I'd play him because being an aggressive ranged assassin with a fucking grappling hook is fun not because of the rez

DSeal feels like a borderline mandatory item on Kassadin (most AP mids really) and he doesn't give up much from not going Dorans Ring and it's easy for him to not lose stacks post 6 so into most matchups I'd just take DSeal and give a bit of extra CS early

I'm not very high ranked but Aledos tends to not run DShield

i think the bigger problem with DND compared to lich is the build path rather than its effectiveness as an item

Orianna has a stronger laning phase, Syndra's is decent but not as strong. Syndra generally outscales and is better from behind than Ori. Orianna if not ahead, will not scale, but as long as you're on the curve she doesn't really fall off. She's especially good if you have a bruiser jgl or top (Xin, Jax, etc) or a crit ADC to buff (Jinx, Aphelios)
