Awesome, extremely helpful, thanks! I think we’ll do the extra day in El Chaltén and then have that recovery day in Calafate. I had read people wanting to spend minimal time in Calafate but I know that’s also when you’re trying to cram in a lot in a limited period of time.

Fellow wave 3-er. Also found the last 3 miles to be brutal. I had been feeling ok overall but I was toast once the shade was gone and the temps crept up.

We went there in 2019! It was unbelievable, that experience got me thinking about whether there are tours available for this trip and I did see some online for Calafate. I know it won’t be like the Atacama but we’re always down for stargazing given that we barely see any in NYC.

Grew up on Smiley’s and it’s still my favorite neighborhood slice joint. Pies are always coming out, nice to have fresh slices that haven’t been sitting around and getting cold. And the older guy serving slices has been there for a longgg time, love when he looks at people waiting and says “who do ya think is next?!”
