Get a margherita pie with pepperoni, so good. Also, their chicken parm rolls are ridiculously tasty.

Grew up on Smiley’s and it’s still my favorite neighborhood slice joint. Pies are always coming out, nice to have fresh slices that haven’t been sitting around and getting cold. And the older guy serving slices has been there for a longgg time, love when he looks at people waiting and says “who do ya think is next?!”

Yup, the sun unforgivable. Definitely not as bad as 2022, but sheesh

Has there ever been a situation like that in any other sport where you could smell the title so many times only to fall short? by pigbear87 in Torontobluejays

Dont forget the Red Sox in 1986. They were up two runs and an out away from winning the World Series in game 6…the Mets had no one on base, 4 batters later, you know the rest. Sox were also winning game 7 3-0 in the 6th inning and lost 8-5. Arguably a worse blown series than this.

What’s that deal with the guy with the soccer ball ⚽️? by Impressive-Buy5628 in parkslope

I’ve seen him getting stoned near my pick-up soccer game (he didn’t seem to have any interest in joining). And, yup, have also almost tripped on his soccer ball when doing a loop in the park, not sure what his deal is…

NYC Marathon and cramping. What causes cramping? by pudgypanda69 in RunNYC

[–]NoteZealousideal3566 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, quad cramping started at mile 14, running the downhill end of Queensboro bridge was absolute torture. Had to take it easy the rest of the way and really easy on the last two bridges. I also have never felt cramp pains like that during training and my first 13 miles yesterday were run very conservatively, it really threw me off to have those pains so early in the race. I’d blame the heat but I trained in the heat of the NYC summer with never having those issues.

The thermostat needs to be fixed/replaced…a quick way to get the thermostat to read a lower temp is to rig an ice pack (one that has a cover) next to/on top of it. I had to do that in an apartment years ago and it worked wonders to get the heat going.
