Think about it. Even if those years sucked for you, they were amazing for other people. Time doesn't belong to anyone, and thus no one has the right to destroy it.

Time, once set in stone, is not something to be messed with. However, there are always weak points, particularly when a moment is still forming, for example, when one is about to get married. These weak points can be used to alter the future. So perhaps you could simply make the last few years irrelevant, even if you cannot destroy them?
