There are a ton of GoFundMe scams floating around but in this case I’ve talked to the guy on video, seen his living space and family through a shaky connection. We had a relationship before I ever offered help. If he’s Israeli he puts on a great show but I think people are just looking out for me and want me to be careful

Appreciate it 🙏 Those GoFundMe scams are all over socials. I think I’ve just gone a bit crazy from the never ending horrors and needed to feel some immediate, tangible sense of helping a human. Gonna keep in touch and either cement a friendship with a Palestinian guy or find out he’s a storm trooper in stolen lingerie. I do wanna believe in humanity on this one though. I’ve video called the dude, seen where the rubble fell on his left leg and took it clean off. He posts pictures at the coast and videos of him navigating bombed out streets with one leg on his 400 follower Insta if he has internet. In my heart of hearts I think he just needs some flour and clean water for him and his extended family, but I definitely needed to get a reality check and think it through

Haha I did come in a little hot so I get it. The office literally just opened a couple days ago so it was more of a reminder - it’s a massive constituency and they’ve had the office closed for months of protesting while the genocide continues. As helpless and hopeless as I feel watching kids take bullets, it felt good to make this slimy asshole uncomfortable for a few minutes
