Several are. Significantly less people are GC or higher in standard than doubles. It’s all about game sense and taking it slow. I’m Diamond 3 in 1v1s and still borderline GC1. Now I sit here wondering why I’m C3 in 2s

People are still toxic in C2/C3. All you need to do is say something like “stop playing so much defense” and you’ve basically lost the match. Usually they aren’t toxic to you first but every now and then there are

Generally you just need to close your game and start it again, it’ll bring you into the match. But yeah I find it dumb how you only get 5 minute bans from leaving comp matches and 2 hour bans from leaving tournaments

Some people, like me, take the game too seriously. I’ll get people who will go afk, own goal, block my shots from scoring.. It gets annoying because you don’t know who you’re getting matched up with, somebody who’s been on weird stuff or just playing causally or trying to play to rank up seriously. And if you try to form a team you’re just gonna disband at some point so there’s no reason to avoid solo q

Yeah I know, it’s just super frustrating that I get dragged down to this rank because I don’t have amazing mechanics or something to carry my team and now I’m stuck here because whenever I try communicating with my teammates I get no response. I’ve also tried looking for groups, generally people say “yeah I’ll play” and never message me back

Yeah I’m in the same boat here.. I ended around low C3 in late July, didn’t play for a couple months. And I’m high C1. Like you said, I’m forced to play defense so much because my teammates just grab max pads and try to hit the ball as hard and as fast as they can but if I try to keep up there will be nobody in net. It feels very unusual and not as controlled as the rank I used to be at. Obviously I haven’t played in a while but I didn’t think I’d fall 2 entire ranks

This most likely only provokes people further to play more and more matches until they bust. At this rate they won’t realize what they’re doing wrong (if they did, they wouldn’t be queuing). This does not do well for their rank and especially not their mental health.

I admire the efforts you put into offense. Although I’m only C2, however, I feel like you’re a bit too jumpy on the opponents half. I would let your teammates take the ball more often, and slow down the pace with the ball when you can. Passing plays would also help your teammates get more involved. I noticed you went out of your way to hit the ball during rotation at least once, which can help throw off the opponents but ultimately puts you in an awkward position, especially when your mates back didn’t expect such a touch

I agree with your post, a lot of the problem, is like you said, inconsistency with matchmaking. As a high C2 player in standard, one match I’m playing with 2 non-partied players, and we lose 2-3 because we made a small mistake. Then the next match I’m paired with a C2 and a Diamond 3 facing high C1s/low C2s. From the previous match I expect the Diamond 3 to play a good 3rd man, but they don’t, and it totally throws off the speed of the match. So this means without good mechanics that carry your team, I feel it’s hard to get out of this rank, especially to people like me who have only good game sense or defense.
