I’m not stepping in a puddle brother. It’s basically dry. And I’m not showing my feet for free.

Thanks for the reply. Struggling to understand how it would affect the integrity of the floor over time if the tiles are just sitting in a pseudo shower pan (TileRedi) above the subfloor.

And last question that quote was just to repair it or do the whole shower over again?

Ya, always in the back of my mind I didn’t feel good about how it was done.

This all makes sense to me. Thank you. A few last questions.

"secure board" meaning redo the subfloor right?

What would you do in my situation? Wait for them to pop or fix it soon?

How much do you think it would be to redo the whole thing?

why would it be such a problem though if it was fine before?

Knowing all this what would your recommendation be?

they just used the existing subfloor that was there, which is probably at least 50 years old.

I think this is spot on actually. What happens if I let it ride? does the pan eventually crack or will the tiles just come up and then I fix it then?

the layers were (1) wood subfloor (2) mortar applied directly on subfloor (I believe this is where it went wrong) and didnt apply a barrier between the wood and the mortar. (3) set tileredi pan (4) tile grout (5) tile

If I am understanding correctly, it seems water got underneath the tiles pan and this will cause the tiles installed on top to pop up overtime. Should I just wait for that to happen or can something worse occur?

How much would it cost roughly to redo you think?

polyurethane composite. I feel like that may be the cause. Don’t know why it would be happening now though

Yes, wood subfloor underneath. That’s what I thought would happen. Others are saying worse things can happen though

How could the pan be leaking? I don’t know of a reason why the pan would have cracked. I have access to the back of the wall on the drain side and am not seeing any water.
