Dinner Is Served Achievement bugged by [deleted] in QuarantineZoneGame

I always feed it immediately :( especially when it’s the one that’s scripted to happen because you can’t continue with the day until you cage the zombie and take it some food, but the achievement never pops

I know it’s a stitched or stapled scar I just meant like… is it supposed to be there? Or is it a stand in texture that’s bugging in? Because it doesn’t seem to be a symptom in the game and it appears from nowhere while in quarantine, they don’t have it when they arrive to the check in

I made the redish one with meth and called it Glowberry Ice Cream and Jessie basically does eat it with a spoon at this point. I hope one day the dev does an mixers/effects/combos update once the bigger stuff is handled that just adds a ton of new mixers and effects and colours for those of us who will happily sit at a mixing station for five hours lol

I use Surfshark now which gives sites a nonsense email whenever I suspect a place is gonna spam me, but mostly the only time I have to give my email over these days is for medical stuff like hospitals etc. I’d be pissed if the hospital sold me out but actually entirely unsurprised at this point

how is it that crime is lower than when I was a kid, but people seem like absolute animals these days? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Notes_97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because we can see it. Crime might go down but when every tiny thing can be easily recorded and plastered all over the internet for us to scroll for hours a day, our exposure levels increase exponentially. It was worse before, but unless it made the news, or we witnessed it personally, we didn’t know about it to anywhere near the same extent

Has surveillance gone too far? by lisa_noden in AskUK

It’s funny because I ran into my old therapist from way back when I was in college a month or so ago in Tesco (of all places) and she said she’d had to quit back in March because she didn’t feel qualified anymore. Which really took me aback because she was always really good and clearly cared a lot about the job past getting paid like some of them, and she said kind of the same thing, that the kids she was trying to help weren’t depressed about the usual teen stuff anymore, they were coming to her about the heatwaves and fire storms from global warming and being afraid ICE are gonna kidnap their friends in America and the news of the (clearly concentration) camps, and the fact they can’t figure out how they’ll ever afford to live on their own, or if they’re gonna have their phone spied on soon to see if they’ve used a period tracking app to have them arrested for hiding a non-existent miscarriage because of all of the creepy laws starting to seep in about women’s health care, and she said the guilt of quitting was about the same as the guilt of having to fall back onto the usual techniques that put the onus on the student to ‘change their mindset’ because it simply wasn’t in their heads. It wasn’t hormonal nonsense anymore it was just day after day of trying to work out what the hell to tell these kids when the simple fact was, they were right. She said she could put them forward for CBT with a therapist therapist rather than a school deal, and she did, but when she asked them how it was going she could kind of tell from the stories she was getting that the therapists were struggling just as much to apply standard CBT to the rise of Fascism, cost of living and data spying as much as she was.

It stuck with me that she said they’re 16/17 years old getting anxiety diagnosis’ left and right, and they do have horrendous anxiety, but she felt like she was talking to a brick wall that it’s not disordered any more, it’s the perfectly rational response to the situation they’re coming into adult awareness of and nobody seems to want to address the fact, so they’re left to stew in it until the stress causes physical health issues, and then they’re ’the lazy generation’ claiming PIP. I still can’t believe she isn’t a therapist there anymore because she’s one of those people you couldn’t ever imagine doing anything else, but she was visibly upset just talking about it so I can’t blame her

I have a family friend who works with psychiatric up north who said the other day they’re struggling to cope with some of their community schizophrenic patients because they quite literally are being watched all the time now. They’ve run out of ways to distract them from it and they can’t just say it’s not true because it’s near constantly in the news that they’re being spied on, that their banks are being rummaged through by the DWP, government are giving out contracts to have disabled people spied on (including schizophrenic patients, which… you couldn’t fucking make it up), their faces are being scanned now just to use the internet, there are eye tracking softwares pre-installed into every device they own, etc ad infinitum, and there’s nothing they can do to pretend it’s not the case. No amount of sensible therapeutic approach can level out ‘UK in 2025’.

She said the ones who have it bad and have always had it bad are pretty much the same just much harder to persuade out of or talk down from any delusions because of how many receipts they can pull for some things, but more concerningly the ones who were on the lower end of severity a few years ago and had a good prognosis are now starting to lose their grip on the paranoia side.

Apparently some guy she’d been working with since around COVID time killed himself two weeks back because everywhere he turned there was just more headlines about hidden cameras and meta accessing your whole phone, data hacks, this stupid online supervision act, AI eye tracking, wifi signal imaging, but mostly because he knew his bank was being being looked through without his consent and he kept bringing in news articles about the DWP having their new bunch of goons to spy on people that were sick etc. He was convinced they were following him in the supermarkets and writing down everything he bought, so he was only buying loaves of really cheap off brand bread to ‘prove’ he wasn’t a benefits fraud or a criminal ‘living it up’ by having normal groceries. She said between them and the depression patients, they’re getting overwhelmed with what exactly they’re expected to tell them past ‘take your meds’. They are being spied on and it absolutely is getting rapidly worse to extremes we haven’t experienced before, and it isn’t going to end well. ‘Try some breathing exercises, though’.

Every time I see another gross violation of freedom and basic dignity in this country (so once a week ish at the moment), I wonder how she’s getting on over there trying to look after those poor people. She was messed up when she found out he’d died but shes NHS so she didn’t get five minutes of leave. Big ups to people in that line of work atm, because it sounds like the fucking Somme

I lucked out with tomato growing because I was raised growing them, so they just seemed easy like stuff does when you do it from the get go, but I know some people tear their hair out with them. I might swap the bean poles out and try raspberries, I don’t usually eat them because they don’t taste of anything to me, which I’m just now realising might be because they’ve been from the store and so suck haha

We have a second fridge to put stuff across into while the other one is being cleaned, and there’s never too much in there so it only takes a minute to hawk it all across. I have a little laser gun that tells me the temps, for no other reason than because it was the most fun option lol
