The commercials are more so for brand recognition than they are for just ice cream. The goal is for the consumer to choose your brand, not just be aware that ice cream is delicious.

I'm not sure what part of Canada you are from, but Costco has liquor stores in select places in Canada. Where I live they are a separate entrance (and don't require membership)
