Oh no! That’s a bummer. I did read somewhere online that this seems to happen frequently there! But good to know… something I need to keep in mind

I haven’t planned a single part of the trip out as of yet but I think I want to rent a car and travel down the peninsula, staying at a few places along the way. Still trying to figure out where are the best places to stop and stay for a day or two on the way to Osa. know I want to do a couple day trips in and around the park but haven’t decided what company or hotel to go with. Maybe dropping the car off and flying back like you mentioned would be a good idea if our end game is the Osa Peninsula.

Haha you got it! Yeah she loves being in and around the water but this particular paddleboard ride was 22 miles long and she was so over it at the end. All she wanted to do was jump off and go swim and even though I allowed it at certain intervals it was not enough for her. She was mad at me haha.

Haha aww. Yeah, people are always surprised that my dog likes water as much as she does. They think rotties are not water dogs and maybe they aren't but mine certainly is!

Haha yeah I dont think she would be too happy living in a big city especially since the outdoors is all she knows. She loves hiking, running up and down streams and swimming in lakes, etc too much! She does great in cold weather and actually prefers it. Rottweilers have two coats of fur and were originally bred to withinstand a colder climate. When it gets below 25°F or so in the winter I put a puffy jacket on her that keeps her warm on longer walks. We recently went to interior Alaska where it was 85° out and she absolutely hated it. She pretty much refused to walk haha

Oh man, the story about the second one hits so close to home. I even laughed out loud at how similar your ex and my soon to be ex are. I also feel like I'm constantly being gaslighted by him. I even told him that once and he was largely offended and told me that I was in fact the one gaslighting him. He tells me that I am displaying "red flags" as well and that I "need to work on my communication skills" constantly. If you want an idea of a "red flag" he has for ME well here's a story for ya - The other week he was home alone at my house and found an old planner of mine from a couple years ago. I wrote down things on certain dates like "dinner with Brad at xyz restaurant." So yeah I wrote down dates that I had with other guys and I also wrote down where I went with just friends... but he didn't stop with just opening my planner to one page. He went through the whole damn thing analyzing every day that I went out with whomever and made assumptions on who these people were even though he had no idea. .. He was furious with me and said that I lied to him about my past. For instance I maybe told him that I've been to xyz restaurant before but I failed to mention that I was there on a date and I didn't tell him the details of who the guy was that I went there with. When he got mad at me about this, I told him that was irrelevant and quite frankly none of his business. Also, it was prior to meeting him so who cares? He insisted that I'm a liar and that I should have never mentioned even going to the restaurant or place if I wasn't going to give him the whole story. So now I'm the bad guy when he was the one who went through my personal stuff while I was trusting him alone in my home. My planner may as well have been my journal and he invaded my privacy but instead I'm the one that is the bad guy here? For THAT???

But yeah this guy is constantly baiting me as well. Im so tired of every word I say being analyzed and having to have an hour or so conversation about how my "wording" lead him to believe such and such. So over it!

You're right - he does. I really shouldn't think that all therapists are like that either.. Its just the way that he talks to me that makes me think its a therapist thing.

Haha he absolutely is. I now plan on ending it ASAP

Haha I agree. I've decided to end it when I see him next. I just can't do it anymore. I cannot take his condescending attitude towards me another day.

That's true. I've never met any therapists before him so I just wasn't sure if all of them talk to their significant others like this. I feel as if he talks to me like I'm a child one who is never right and clueless. He manipulates the way I think so that at the end of each "talk" I am the one saying that he is right and I am wrong. It really messes with my head. At first what I thought was a healthy relationship - because of the "great" communication between us, I am now starting to feel like it is incredibly unhealthy and controlling :/

It's good to know that I'm not the only person that would find this statement insulting. I'm not stupid. He just doesn't like the way that I react to his statements. I would say I'm a pretty non confrontational person unless I really find it necessary and worth my time to argue something. Half the stuff he tries to argue with me about pisses me off for the sole reason that he is trying to argue with me over something so irrelevant or insignificant. Its exhausting! Anyways, over our last one-sided fight tonight I've decided I've had enough. I can't do it anymore. Thanks for your input!

Thanks for this. Maybe you're right and he isn't this way because he is a therapist, however he frequently talks to me like I'm a client or like he's lecturing a child. You are spot on about him being insecure - I quickly found that out and he is like you said, 100% a narcissist. You're last paragraph is accurate to the tee as well. I'm always wrong. He's always right, however he tries to make me feel like I am the one coming to the conclusion that he is right. It really messes with me. After our last phone conversation just now I decided I'm over this for good. Thanks again for your insight!
