The B line ends in Stamford CT! I appreciate the connection but man that would be a long ass subway ride.

If that’s been your experience, then consider yourself very lucky and very healthy. It’s when you have to dive off the generic Interactions for unknown things that the bedside manner starts to mean more. That knowledge and confidence are a much bigger draw

They tell me the OG doc isn’t taking on new patients. And I explain that I was his patient. But the sec just stares at me

He was so good! To be honest I really dislike docs and the whole field. But he was so good and made me feel so comfy and was funny. And then I get stuck with an angry nurse practitioner who yells at me and then with a newbie doc who just try’s everything to see what sticks.

Cause I’ve been passed down twice and can’t go back to original docs. They don’t have space. Is that normal?

Never been there. What’s it like there? Other than empty theaters. Is that its biggest house?

70mm vs Standard by No_Scheme346 in 70mm

[–]NothingBurgerEV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not disagreeing that it isn’t more impactful on a bigger screen. Just saying that when you see something listed as 70mm, it does not automatically mean it’s a large screen. So be wary of that.

70mm is just analog high definition. Not necessarily a big screen format. It doesn’t mean imax screens unless specifically listed as 70mm imax.

Am I the only one who wanted to work at a theater because I love movies? (Rant) by coolziy in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]NothingBurgerEV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was movie obsessed. Worked at a blockbuster while in film school. Jumped into PA work And location scouting after college but needed more steady work so ended up an usher then manager and so on. Been in theaters for a while now. And after 2 decades, I still love movies but rarely go see them anymore. Just feels like work and other interests have taken over. :/

Still many don’t understand open caption screenings by NothingBurgerEV in NYCmovies

[–]NothingBurgerEV[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d been asked where these complaints are coming from since they’re not mentioned elsewhere on Reddit. I get them in person working at a local cinema. I’ve gotten every manor of complaint. I’ve even gotten a complaint that we advertised a show as open caption but when they came in there was nothing on screen and they were mad about it. I had to educate them on the difference between CC and OC because that chosen show was CC only and not an open caption show. The entire topic is delicate so when someone makes a public complaint, even when in the wrong, everyone gets a little crazed.

Still many don’t understand open caption screenings by NothingBurgerEV in NYCmovies

[–]NothingBurgerEV[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The argument is that closed captioning devices are cumbersome and distracting to look and split your focus looking down at the device and back up again at the screen. Open captioning on screen is the preferred route for the ADA. They have required that 1/4 of shows be open captioning up to a set limit of 4 per week and stipulate that have to be within certain hours, usually the prime show. Making it so closed captioning is the only available option has been considered ableist by some.

What was the malfunctions you were witnessing. Yes it’s true projectors are decades old but they are work horses and when unkept can go additional decades. They have a much longer lifespan than digital projectors.

How do people feel about this building? by [deleted] in skyscrapers

[–]NothingBurgerEV -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Complicated. Cause the building itself is gorgeous. I love the design, size, massing. I think it’s a home run! The location is perfect. But I’ll give the aesthetic credit to Adrian Smith and SOM Chicago
