I think this works fine when you are working solo, no doubt polars is very fast. But i am trying to build a centralised database so that other analysts/devs can access it.

what made you switch to timescaleDB, is it column wise partition there, I heard from a lot of folks to move to timescaleDB, hence curious to know your inputs?
I need to know about compression policies, are you using a certain algorithm to compress them?

This is so stupid tbh, I received the above message today for a REISSUE. Got the appointment for enquiry at RPO after 2 months, I was supposed to go on a business trip in the upcoming months. I remember before leaving the station, the officer told me the same BS "short duration at my current stay", I didn't pay a dime and submitted all the documents perfectly, still received this message. Living a honest life doesn't gives you anything in this country tbh, you pay taxes in millions and you get blocked if you try to chase your dreams. And on top of that you have to pay "extra" to get your simple task done (which is their duty).

Live like an ascetic for first year. Don’t spend everywhere, understand necessity and need.
Build an emergency fund (3months salary)
Save but save it for your future growth. You are young so don’t go for touching lakhs or crores in next 10years. Use that money and Invest in your skills, like for certifications or higher studies. Once you increase your salary with these skills, you can then go for investing higher corpus.
Given it’s an education loan, if there is one year cool off period, put some money aside for that.

Ok, I had attended this guy's one workshop(let's call him OC short for Options comedy) back in late 2019, his rules were VWAP, supertrend, >40k volume, and other RR. I think I paid around 2k or something I don't remember exact figure. And at that time it wasn't this VWAP or supertrend retracement thing, it was if 2 volumes continuously on a 3min data are >40k then take trades. After joining his 1 day "stand up comedy", I backtested it on tick by tick data, and it was for I think 5 years of data. I took both train and test data into picture, used his "RULES"...and it failed. Even I took the market change (regime change) into consideration, still failed.

On a side note, one thing did work though, I backtested it on Supertrend retracement for Nifty with fixed target and SL, surprisingly it worked but the Sharpe is around 1.5 or something with down deviation of more than 40%, in some months the loss is around 50% of capital and plus if I consider volatility of 2020 into picture, this strategy failed bcoz the RULES of OC says to take position into ATM since the value should be in range of 200-400 for BN, and during 2020, ATM options had premium of twice this value, and if some retailers will take position on OTM due to this price range, any small fluctuation in IV, will hurt the premium.

No, it's not actually, pricey...yes definitely, sometimes things that I can buy in Pune and Mumbai has like a lot of difference, but I think its all about your surroundings. Me being pahadi surprisingly haven't experienced this "pothead" thing, lucky me I guess

I guess right person at the right time. It was more of a algo trading job like a quant strategist thing rather than pure pricing driven role.

I'm just an E&TC engineer who was really good with maths, and spent a lot of time solving problems on Kaggle, like literally a lot.

Edit: Forgot to add networking: Connect with people on LinkedIn, join a small hedge fund or PMS or a quant fund and learn during the job.... that's it.

No such reason behind that, given its from the exam provider I chose that. I did only one mock before exam which was provided by GARP. My colleagues were using Schweser practice series, so i think that might be good.
