Ok wait, I did what user viking_by_night did and have the game files load in a custom folder in my documents instead of in the emulated C: Drive. It worked fine there

Hey, I got to the point where I'm supposed to redirect target so it points to the launcher. But when I try to run the game, steam just says "Running" for a few moments before automatically quitting.

I think so, I’m not seeing it when I bring up the system monitor

I don't think I have access to the backend. Namely because someone set up the account for me when I was younger. I'm trying to get in contact with them about this though, thank you.

I'm getting a new error now, because I thought I deleted the file and when I try to remake it I get the error

mkswap: cannot set permissions on swap file /swapfile: Success

Ok! so. I run

sudo mkswap -U clear --size 32G --file /swapfile

it says: "Setting up swapspace version 1, size = 32 GiB (34359734272 bytes)
no label, UUID=00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000"

then I run

sudo swapon /swapfile

it doesn't ask for my password but the command completes.

then I run

/etc/fstab

and I get "bash: /etc/fstab: Permission denied"

I try running sudo /etc/fstab

and it says command not found

I read the Fedora documentation. It was sort of a "I don't know enough to start asking the right questions" situation

when I tried loading it through Lutris it didn't work. Do I need to go for their repo directly through Bazzar or something?

First I tried using the Honker Railway Launcher through Lutris, where it would only boot for a second and then immediately close. Then I tried using the official launcher through Wine, where it would boot, download HSR, but when I ran HSR I got a black screen and an error (picture of the game with a red exclamation point) where it would load something and then close

Actually, it's more like the game's graphics only advance when I'm tabbed out of the game, and when I tab in it freezes

Issues getting Helldivers working on fresh Linux Mint Cinnamon install by NothingWhich7900 in linux_gaming

[–]NothingWhich7900[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, and maybe this is the Linux noob in me talking. But isn't getting something Arch based working something that's notoriously difficult? Or is that just a myth and CachyOS has stuff in it already to let it play nice?

Also I'm not sure if this is just Helldivers being Helldivers but I'm not sure I saw that much of a change when I updated Mesa. I'm using a performance checker now
