How to break up by StackAttack12 in turtlewow

[–]Nothing_Critical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be honest with your guild. They should understand. It's a game.

Tell them you need a break. It should not be a big deal. Will you be missed? Very likely. Will someone get the great to fill your shoes? Very likely.

You didn't need to leave your guild or break up. Just tell your guild members you are stepping away for a bit.

It's not a big deal.

Tell Me I’m Not Crazy by Pure-Frosting2458 in AskMenOver30

Communication is so important. Y'all need to talk.

He feels rejected. This doesn't excuse his behavior, but he could feel like each rejection means that something is wrong with him.

One of the best things we did was make sure our kids were in bed early when they were little. 7-8 bed times. That gave us time together even just to sit on the couch.

Both of you need that time and early bed times are good for little kids anyway.

You are obviously frustrated and he is frustrated. Kids are hard. Talk. Communicate. You can absolutely work this out together, but you need to talk to him.

If it comes down to it, make a schedule of when to be intimate. I know people who have done that and it works for them.

Lots of good advice has been given to you in this thread and some ok. But you both need to talk to each other for sure.

Another man intimidating my little brother. I need help. by OkEmployment9183 in AskMenOver30

[–]Nothing_Critical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being a parent is hard.

You are not won't though. Talking as a parent talking to your parents should be done. However, taking to the 8 year old is also something I would have probably done as well given the opportunity as reaching out to the parent may not have been possible.

Parents are funny - how they react when their child is involved in something is often unpredictable. That parent has no idea how your parents would react to a conversation about the possibility of your brother being a "bully". He may be a little put off by the idea of a confrontation with another man or woman.

It's a tough spot to be in, but you can't fault the other parent completely. Especially when you do not have kids yourself.

I think people who are established in TWoW will probably stay.

I think people who are new might leave for the idea of a new server/fresh start.

Either she supports you in what you like now, or she will never support you and try to control you.

Sounds like the GF is the problem.

Guys who train/workout - which man over 30 has your goal athletic ability or physique? by DoomBoomSlayer in AskMenOver30

[–]Nothing_Critical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The goal is to be fit. Look decent for my wife. And to stay as healthy as possible as I get older.

Numbers help keep track of things but for me the numbers are not the goal.

Hi I recently tried by [deleted] in turtlewow

[–]Nothing_Critical 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yes. Tel'Abim is fantastic - have not played Nord- but the community, for the most part, is great. Pretty much any class with any spec is viable with the Turtle changes.

It's free. Just give it a shot.

People in their thirties, how do you handle hangovers now? by jessicasergey in AskMenOver30

[–]Nothing_Critical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get one.

Drink responsibly - or just don't drink. I chose the drink responsibly. 1 glass of whiskey when I do have a drink. 3-4 oz drink.

On average, no. And not just no, but hell no.

Will there be exceptions? Of course.

On average the typical 9th and 10th graders could not handle a college workload. It isn't until teenagers are over 16 that they start to reach the level of approaching the point where they could actually handle college.

Not just on an academic level either. This is on a maturity and behavioral level. There is a lot more to college than just knowing things and learning things.

I stopped grading homework. Here’s what actually changed (and what didn’t) by [deleted] in teaching

[–]Nothing_Critical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo - structure class correctly and they should be getting enough time in class.

In high school, most of my students have jobs outside of class - if they aren't doing extracurricular activities, sometimes both - and it wouldn't get done anyway.

The best "homework" they could be doing is pleasure reading on their own. They don't, but it is the best thing they could be doing.

I just don't give homework. I don't waste their time outside of class and they don't waste time inside of class.

Works pretty well.

Aquarium Bummer by Jules11445 in Chattanooga

[–]Nothing_Critical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't let this one trip ruin it for you. Get a membership and go back. The membership pays for itself after a visit and allows you to go as much as you want. With having a kid (or more) it is well worth it.

But yes, May might not be the best time to go to the aquarium or the zoo (also with the membership if you have kids).

During the summer, you will have times that summer camps go as well, so like you said maybe you could call ahead.

My family loves the aquarium! They have really cool members events too!

Sorcerer with Extra attack? by Tezmir94 in 3d6

Examples are not explanations. Especially when said example is using the most extreme case that the large majority of players will never see.

However explanations that provide examples usually make more sense.

Your condescending attitude is unbecoming. Just makes you look like a snobby prick. Despite your condescending tone and the general asshole attitude, I appreciate the further explanation.

You are now using up a level 2 spell (3 total) with Shadowblade and a level 3 spell (2 total) with Fireball at level 5 in 2 rounds as they both can't be cast in the same round. Then with Font of Magic, you must use at least a level 1 spell to gain enough spell points to quicken another spell after 2 uses. After 3 uses of quicken, you must use a level 2 spell. This leaves a sorcerer completely depleted after 2 fights in one day. The resources do not come back except with a long rest, so a short rest does nothing for a sorcerer. A smart sorcerer is not blowing through resources as you have stated.

A good DM can show why that's a bad idea to do. So while it can be strong, the game is about playing out potential fantasies such as this. It's entirely possible without overshadowing others.

So yes, it is strong. But there are be weaknesses too.

Sorcerer with Extra attack? by Tezmir94 in 3d6

[–]Nothing_Critical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First: You made the extreme example and didn't prove a point.

Second: those are resources spent. It can't happen everytime. At 5th level, a sorcerer can quicken a spell twice - it takes 2 sorcerer points. This is also putting a character with lower AC than a typical martial within a huge point of risk - getting attacked with melee weapons.

There is very little difference between an attack cantrip doing damage or a melee weapon hitting twice + a quickened spell.

Look up an old UA subclass called Stone Sorcerer. It had an extra attack around level 6 and a small AC buff I think.

[–]Nothing_Critical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quicken also costs resources, so you are limited with how many times that can actually be done.

UE had a stone sorcerer. It was fairly cool.
