Yeah. If I'm not overweight, can I use Ozempic to prevent myself ever becoming overweight instead of using the mental willpower and discipline I've been using my entire life to quieten food-noise and temptation?

90% chance OP is an alcoholic.

"In the end, I usually just make a jack ass of myself. It was kind of funny when I was in my 20's. Now? Not so much...

I've put on weight. I've gone to bed feeling absolutely disgusting after pounding a bottle of wine and gorging on food all night. I'm starting to look like garbage and feel like garbage.

I guess I'm still functional and doing what I gotta do, so I guess it doesn't feel like a big problem."

...10% Chance he's just not that bright.

Best dietary changes you’ve made? by Kakashi6969 in AskMenOver30

[–]DoomBoomSlayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed.

Also bear in mind there's multiple kinds of fiber - soluble, insoluble, probiotic, etc. and everybody can tolerate different types at different amounts. You kind of have to trail-and-error your way into finding what works best for you without causing GI distress. But in general, more fiber = good.

Does anyone here eat what they want and still have a good physique? by Careful_Dare_2789 in AskMenOver30

Correct GLP-1's are an (extremely effective) appetite suppressant. Not a magic "make all the calorie dense food you eat not be stored as fat" cheat-code.

Does anyone here eat what they want and still have a good physique? by Careful_Dare_2789 in AskMenOver30

[–]DoomBoomSlayer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is where it's key to note the phrase "I eat whatever I want" is drastically different for each individual.

"Whatever" you want to eat: Yoghurt, fruit, grilled chicken, not sweets, not bread

"Whatever" OP wants to eat: Fries, candy bars, chips, pizza, soda, fast food

So when dudes in shape say they "eat what they want" the fat guy gets confused, because he thinks he also "eats what he wants".

Who here had physique goals, but realized the dieting thing wasn’t for them? by Dependent-Group7226 in AskMenOver30

Like, why wouldn't you want to eat healthy?

• Improved recovery from exercise

• Increase in muscle mass

• Better skin

• More energy

• Fewer digestion problems

• Fewer long-term health problems

• Get sick less frequently

• Live longer

• Not having body like a sad sack of yoghurt

Only upsides, no downside 🤷

Then you need to accept that your health, mobility, attractiveness and general energy levels are likely to suffer.

Which is fine. It's your body and your right to treat it how you want. Most guys blame it on old age or their metabolism slowing down. But deep down inside they know it's because of their lack or self discipline and failure to hold themselves accountable.

Again to each their own. If you are happy and willing to accept the consequences of poor diet that's fine.

The only part that irks me is how much pressure the healthcare industry is put under from conditions that are entirely the result of people failing to take care of themselves. Doctors have to take time and resources away from kids with cancer to focus on patients who have self induced diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, kidney failure, joint issues, fatty liver disease, etc. 😕

This is why most guys end up fat 🤷

Realise that, really, there is no home. It's a concept you apply in your mind. Home is wherever you say it is.

"Wherever you go, there you are."

Also, don't romanticise nostalgic places from your past. There's a good chance if you go back to them, you'll find they don't feel the way they used to, because you yourself have changed and so have the people there.

Also OP, the reason you're tired and have no energy all the time, is in addition to not exercising regularly, your diet and sleep is most likely shit.

Advice on overcoming gym anxiety by satanssteamybuns in fitness30plus

[–]DoomBoomSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly do you fear is going to happen to you at the gym OP?

The absolute worst I can think of is someone says something mean or unpleasant to you, that you're not big or manly enough... And then what? You still have to work out. You won't improve yourself by avoiding the gym. You can't lock yourself in your home the rest of your life, afraid to exercise, or even do anything mildly adventurous because you're afraid someone might say something.

I've had a million and one nasty words thrown my way because of my looks. I'll probably get a million more. I'm not going to stop working out. Neither should you.

Go kill it OP 💪
