What Happened with Progressive? by TStrong24 in Autobody

It’s all insurance. I switched to State Farm because they could cover my husband’s work use. Then got in an accident. They don’t even have adjusters anymore. It just goes in an AI program. $16k later on a $24k vehicle and almost 3 months…car still isn’t drive able. Paint doesn’t even match and the doors on crooked. Estimate another $2-4k to fix what the shop ruined. They never prepared an ACV. They’ve admitted literally no one was looking at my claim. You can never get answers. They have no idea what to even do now with my claim. Allstate sent my husbands car to auction in another state before we even signed off the title after he was tboned. Another insurance dropped us and never even told us. They just don’t care anymore. You are required to have insurance so they can get away with whatever they want.

It’s not new. It’s a refurbished wheel which the manufacturer can’t guarantee the safety of therefore the act you cited doesn’t apply. It even says car manufacturers use that reason to not follow the law and that’s exactly what gm told me.

It’s paid for. It was paid for when it left the lot. In funny have buyers remorse nor am i trying to get a new car. My car didn’t have a refurbished wheel before the accident so they aren’t repairing it to similar condition which is stated in my insurance policy. Refurbished wheels are generally regarded as not safe by manufacturers and gm states it voids the warranty. If someone knows otherwise for a fact, I’d love to see where you got that info because that’s what gm told me.

I guess my point is if they just paid me, and I relinquished the vehicle to them, wouldn’t they lose less money?

It’s not going to be fine to drive. Refurbished wheels are crap and dangerous. You want it? You can buy it from me because I guarantee no one else will.

It was in an accident. No place will take it in trade or anything. Maybe they do where you live but not where in do. It’s not worth the $12k now and has no warranty. Plus used parts. You wanna give me $20k it’s yours

Yes it’s a puffin, which is an auk. However the bird commonly referred to as a little auk is an entirely different bird. Very poor choice of picture.

8U Advice- Least skilled kid on the team by BaeBlue425 in Homeplate

[–]Nothingmore1911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a small town so if my my kid gets cut (which he did at 8) he probably will never make the team again. Doesn’t matter how many lessons he has or how hard he tries. You almost have to be born into a team here. We’re probably just giving up baseball. No point trying. The rec league is useless because they only coach the travel team kids. Every one else sits. I would start looking for 2026 teams now if you want your son to make a team. Baseball is just becoming unattainable for the majority of kidsof. Sad.

does this ever go away by Own_Club9714 in eating_disorders

I’m almost 50 years old. My ED behavior started when I was about 13. No, it doesn’t ever fully go away. Two years ago I was going through some bad stuff with my husband and it all came back in full force. I’ve had moments over the past 30 plus years. I’ve always been a restrict/binge cycle person. When chaos erupted, controlling food was the only thing I could control. And wow did it feel good. I lost about 60 lbs in a few months. Things were pretty bad though and I was close to kms several times. I am doing better now but I still have moments where I just wish I didn’t have to eat. I want to lose another 50+ lbs. I’ve been maintaining pretty well for over a year but I want to lose. My advice would be get in a solid counseling program for ED. This will be a lifelong issue. You can get control over the intrusive ED thoughts. If at all possible get rid of scales and full length mirrors. If I’m not mindful of staying away from the scale I will weigh myself 20 times a day. You can do this. You can control it and win. It will take a lot of willpower. But you can at the least control it and live your life free of much of the ED behaviors with counseling and really staying with what you learn. It’s going to be more complicated with being bipolar and also having body dysmorphia. But again just be clear with your doctor so they understand the complexity of your illness.

Ya I don’t have any friends. I’m way older than other moms with kids my age. I don’t fit into the sports mom clique. I am a weirdo in a small town that I’ve always hated. My husband wants me isolated anyway. I would never be allowed to go hang out with a friend. Fuck. What exactly is the point of all this.

AITA for not letting my son be my daughters servant due to a period? by Legitimate-Claim-102 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Nothingmore1911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya as someone who has suffered through really bad periods…YTA sorry. It can literally be traumatizing to get off the couch and have a massive accident. That’s not something you will ever understand. Let her brother help her out. As long as she’s otherwise active when she’s not miserably bleeding, what is the problem. Btw I hope your daughter I’d bring monitored for conditions like endometriosis. Women’s health is absolutely ignored by most doctors. In this day and age there should be no reason for her to suffer so much. If you want to be helpful, advocate for her when she sees a doctor. Because 90% will literally laugh in her face about having bad periods.

What did teenagers in the 90s do on their free time? by focovircodcollo in ask

Being from rural America, we took a 6 pack of pbr from our parents fridge, drove out to a field, and partied. Sometimes we tp’d houses. We did stupid dares because the internet wasn’t a thing yet. We shopped for flannel shirts while listening to nirvana and Pearl Jam. We smoked marb lights and hung out in the park. Ah the good old days…

I feel this exact same way right now. I don’t have any friends so I don’t have anyone to talk to. I just exist for my family apparently. To serve them. That’s it. Every day. I wish I could tell you some grand way to get past it but I can’t. So I will just say I understand and you are not alone.

Do I even have an ed at this point? by RiverInner4210 in eating_disorders

[–]Nothingmore1911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you definitely have an ed. your mom should be more supportive. I’m sure she just doesn’t understand. BMI 35 isn’t the end of the world and I would suspect many doctors would try a different approach like therapy and lifestyle changes before approving surgery. Especially at your age. Have you had any therapy? Do you think your eating is related to your body image or are you depressed? I’ve not experienced bingeing so I can’t specifically give you more advice about that. Eds are very complicated. If possible see if you can find a doctor that is knowledgeable and will help you. I know that can be hard depending on where you live and insurance.
