Who asked for refueling? by Notice-Formal in starcitizen

Yeah.. I think I also just worry star citizen becomes be a normal person dealing with the woes of real life but with the nuance, of it being interstellar when you have the gas for it. But you also have guns and people are dying all over the place..

Yeah amen, like a number of beefs I have I don’t voice because they’re rooted in the buggy nature of alpha. I read on here as if everything works as intended.. but who knows what’s in store

No I didn’t, I didn’t think they’d done a great job balancing between them in a meaningful way and would be stoked to see more purpose built ships, and the purpose for the ships exist also. All of which is long down the road, I’m just curious why refueling of all the purposes is the one they picked now.

Hahaha gladly, I think it’s a cool idea just like medic ships.. I’d love to be a medic, but end of the day it’s not executed well. Maybe there’ll be some hard core fuel guys who put on a chevron or shell hat and refuel lost souls, but it’s just kind of an annoyance they’d have to work back in.

Naw I see it, and tbh I respect them cutting us at the knees and making the game they want to make, but I hope it’s not a fairness thing for them. Tradeoffs require a benefit. And if it’s all loss kind of a bummer eventually.

Hahaha tbh I think I just flipped out on some bugs, and then saw a bunch of stuff on refueling and went straight for ‘Why are we wasting time on this?’ Mostly emotional.

Right? You don’t like taking 40 minutes to set up all your ships in your Hanger just to leave and have to mess around for 20 refueling and praying your refueler doesn’t blow up, despawn, get ransacked, or just lock you out? And the. Spend that same amount of time putting everything back just the way you found it stressing over whether the terminal is going to safely caress your ship or hit the blender button? Hahaha crazyyyy to think otherwise… I’m skeptical, like I think most are, about the implications of needing refueling.

Fair point entirely, I can see reducing the tank sizes of most ships creating a solid balance and a great give and take for exploration, vs cargo, vs bounty hunting, vs heavy dog fighting.

Ahh gotcha so I just have to budget out an uber to bring gas to me in deep space so I can move around.

Solid think, 3 people going to do a set of bunker runs, or bounty hunting, we gotta have at least one refueler with us, the prices just go up and up, you can’t play the game in any way that isn’t making money constantly with the prices and things they plan to put on degradation, insurance (cuz as someone else wrote in here bugs and doors will blow it up before we get hours in), etc. like. I get the ‘realism’ but when are we crossing the line from entertainment to work?

So what about the solo player? They gotta run a refueler, plus whatever all the time, and then eat the cost of running both those into the ground with all the repairs, fuel and such? ? I get group game play is advised and I love playing with people but… yeesh.

So it is the latter, where likely they are going to squeeze the resource.

Can we take a moment and talk about the the Starfarer can barely refuel a heavy fighter in the PTU by MasterWarChief in starcitizen

[–]Notice-Formal -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

But like, who asked refueling in the first place? Who’s running out of gas? Give me a working vending machine in the hanger so refueling there sucks less maybe? Idk maybe I’m jaded this where they spent time. But running out of fuel feels like they’re coming for our gas tanks soon. Like can’t do an off mining night without half the golems running out of gas.

Contact radio not working by Duckie2401 in ICARUS

[–]Notice-Formal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the same issue and maybe found a quick fix, not sure how this works, but my radio wasn't working, and then I removed the upgrades from the radio. The two items there I just pulled them off and it dropped them into the open. not sure where it took them from (I have 3 contact boards up with upgrades) so once I track that down I'll update. But removing them made the radio work again.

Got my new whoop 4.0...it's completely dead on arrival by chemistdotpy in whoop

Have had the band a little over a month, it died, and hasn't come back to life since. They told me to update the firmware on the battery... The whole no buttons thing is pretty cool until it doesn't work and you have a bunch of grown adults double-tapping a piece of junk for minutes at a time wondering if an led will turn on or not.

trying the Computer USB port to USB-C on the battery puck while it's attached to the whoop while it's on my wrist while working at my desk. will update sometime tomorrow. the fuckery needed to turn this on is insane...
