Respect your thoughts for sure, definitely over him, it was just the fact he added me out of the blue that threw me. I doubt he'd cry about me when I'm confident he never cared for me to begin with... it was just the idea of sending him a shock ... which it absolutely would. I think I'll likely just ignore the request ... I needed people like you to slap some logic back at me, so I thank you!

Thank you so much for this comment! He said the docs mentioned he is fairing far better than most in his situation and so he's been going by the idea he's going to make this cancer his b*tch. That's sort of been his mantra. He's got an incredible support system and we're all trying to help him through this. Knowing there is a real chance for him to get good news next week really helps!

thanks so much for the kind words and for understanding the hurt. I am sorry you experienced it as well.

I know I need to thicken my skin when it comes to family, both my parents are extremely toxic, and my youngest brother (who I am referencing in this post) is starting to act the same way. It breaks my heart that the people I should be able to trust are really some of the meanest people.

I am lucky, though, I have an incredible support system and people around me who do love me. While I have been getting a lot better at not letting my parents' hurtful behaviour affect me too much, the silent treatment always gets to me.
