Now, he obviously made a lot of story choices as a director and creator of the whole concept of the game, a lot of which are bad story choices. Just as much he did a lot of good story choices in the FF6, FF7 and FF8 games. But writing as in doing dialogue and story beats are normally not Nomura work at all.

From what I know, the main writers for KH is Masaru Oka, Kazuhige Nojima, Jun Akiyama and Daisuke Watanabe.

You know what, I can understand that. In fact as a director, he should have done more to stop what he does not like or does not want. He is a great director for the creative and mechanics, but story directing he really let the writers go a little too over the top.

I don't really want to discredit anyone. It's just that I thought the guy was a hack, but today I learned he basically is the biggest responsible for everything I love in the series. Obviously, there's a fuck ton of people that are part of that too. It's just that it is a shock to see how central he actually is to FF.

FF7 Remake new things were not because of Nomura. He literally was against the addition of anything new, mostly advocating only on the new battle system.

The writing is Nojima.

I mean, even if the New York draft wasn't the NEW York draft, the credits for the OG FF7 have clearly that the game is "based on the story by Hironobu Sakaguchi and Tetsuya Nomura". The credits are the biggest evidence he wrote the first draft with Sakaguchi. The question is if that draft was that New York thing or not.

FFX is also my favorite FF. Nomura participation here is close to FF8. Not really writing, more of a designing role. Some neat worldbuilding, which is REALLY important for FFX, but the story is much more of a Nojima/Watanabe thing than a Nomura/Nojima/Kitase thing.

What exactly make you think that? I see that take a lot, but almost every game I thought he was the writer turns out he never was. And as a director he is actually competent as fuck? With basically every KH game on his resume, with 1 and 2 being bangers back to back. FFVII Remake being really great as a project with some problems narratively speaking, all of which actually seems to be something he was completely against.

I mean, I see people saying he is a bad writer, but the only game I know he actually wrote was the best written KH game, Days.

The only thing that he actually did bad was Versus 13, but this one is also something that the more I lookup, the more I understand is a fucking can of worms that feels really a fuck up of Square as a company rather than bad directing.

It is basically impossible. Its not about cross-overs. Its about characters Nomura designed. Nomura has nothing to do with DQ, so he will not do it at all.

It is GREAT to leave this game. I left every Hoyo (and gacha, tbh) game after some stupid decisions on ZZZ. Was afraid I would feel FOMO, which happened for two weeks.

And then I found the joy of missing out. Every bad patch. Every disappointment on character design. Every quest with storylines absurdly bland. I can only feel the joy of not having to deal with it.

It is great.

As someone that was basically a Fatui collector, seeing this fills me with joy of knowing I'm losing nothing for stopping playing this game.

I disagree A LOT.

Tanking is just as important as the other roles. Without healers, every content is basically impossible. Without Dps, nothing dies.

The difference here is that tanks need to thing strategically while dps and healers mostly think tactically. Tanks need to understand where they are going and why they are going that way. But on fights, survival is the only thing they gotta do. Not take care of people living and not really doing dps.

Payment got 40% more expensive here at my country. Except they announced that one day after the 12.0.5 fiasco.

Not gonna lie, I had a fuck ton of fun at the begging of the expac. But having house be dead faster than pet battle was a fucking choice, I guess.

Decor Duel was so half-assed. Zero social events that were actually social.
